We called in to this Michel's for a light lunch. The chain has a good name, and the shop has an attractive position within the Northpark Shopping Centre. There is ample off street parking – 700 spaces advertised! There is comfortable seating for over 50 people. The Asian staff were very friendly and served us our pies, cake and drinks orders at our table – all to order and nicely presented. The only small negative was that we moved from our first table choice on discovering it was less than pristine after the previous customer. Overall a pleasant experience.
We arrived at the restaurant for lunch, having missed breakfast. The thought of iced coffee and a quick meal was appealing. My friend ordered a bowl of perfectly cooked hot chips, while I opted for a Caesar Salad. The bacon could have been cut into smaller pieces, but the chicken was cooked perfectly. The lettuce in the salad was fresh and crispy, although it was disappointing that anchovies were not offered as an option for this dish.
We dropped into the Homemaker Centre at Mile End for a quick breakfast and it was awesome. The address is 121 Railway Terrace Shop 6 and it has mutated since its last owners to be a renovated Michels franchise. The service was fantastic and breakfast great value and fast. This place became a Michel's Patisserie after many years as a BBs. We had afternoon tea there yesterday. It was entirely reasonable nothing to complain about, but nothing out of the ordinary, either. Service was OK and the prices par for the course. My wife commented that there was limited choice for those with gluten intolerance.
