Went to this place for apps while we were waiting for our dinner reservations. Found them online and from the outside we were skeptical it looks worn down but the inside is so nice and service was PHENOMENAL! We sat at the bar we didn’t have to ask for anything staff was very in tune to low water, when food was finished. We didn’t have to wait in between courses. The chef was working like right in front of us and he was so much fun and down to earth. I saw him make sure each oyster was perfect and if it wasn’t he would toss them out. Mignonette is exceptional. The service, the food, the wine, and the ambiance are all executed beautifully. There is nothing stuffy or pretentious about Mignonette; the staff is friendly and engaging. What a fantastic place! After passing by numerous times, we finally decided to stop in, and it was absolutely incredible. The menu focuses on straightforward seafood, and the wine selection, though modest, is perfectly curated to complement each dish. Our server, Ashley, was incredibly knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations for both food and wine, highlighting the specials and popular favorites. Everything was cooked and prepared to perfection. The standout dish of the day was the scallops; it’s been a while since we've enjoyed such a beautifully seared dish. I've visited this restaurant several times in the past, but I recently went for Miami Spice and was blown away by the incredible value. Every dish we sampled was outstanding. The crab cake was one-of-a-kind, featuring a wonderful texture and sauce. We ordered two fish entrées, both of which were cooked to perfection and accompanied by tasty sides. And I must say, the oysters were excellent as well. We were also charmed by the key lime pie and bread pudding! It’s evident that they pay great attention to detail, even down to the wine recommendations from our server.
The food was incredible! We stumbled upon this place during our cross-country trip, and I'm so glad we did. I would definitely return. Our server, Ashley, was fantastic; she helped us navigate the menu and shared the specials and favorites with us. She was very knowledgeable and made excellent wine recommendations. Every dish was cooked to perfection. The standout for us was the scallops—absolutely the best we've had in a long time, perfectly seared. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Easily top 5 of seafood restaurants I've eaten at. Went looking for a within walking distance of our hotel. I had the Red Fish with rice and shrimp and my wife had the Crispy Snapper with Cabbage and sweet potato both seasoned amazingly!!! I was not expecting to eat this well at all!!! Great service as well!!!
Fantastic spot, atmosphere and service. Great presentation of food. Seafood menu with great variety. We really enjoyed ourselves. Perfect wine selection, too.
