I was hesitant to try this place because it is part of a chain, and to me chain BBQ doesn't sounds too great. I was wrong. This place is very supportive of military and public safety folks. Staff is always attentive, and eager to answer questions, friendly, and pay attention to get orders correct. Service is always pretty fast even during busy times. Manager is right there on the serving line and greets you and thanks your for your business. Place is always clean, and there is always a small crowd there, although I think that the majority grab food to go. I am usually not in the habit of reviewing a chain but this one was good enough that I thought I would. Right away the smell was great. Walked in at lunch and the place was packed. Another good sign. The line was moving pretty fast so decided to give it a whirl. Went basic with the pulled pork sandwich and fries. A sweet tea and sat down. Called my number pretty quickly. The fact that it was a chain truthfully had my expectations a little lower. They were incorrect. The sandwich was very proportional to the cost and the bun appeared very fresh. Really good Brisket and Jalapeno Sausage. Sauces and sides are good but nothing special. A little pricey but worth it for a special treat. I do highly respect and applaud Mission's commitment to recognizing our Armed Forces. Everyday at noon - the whole restaurant stops for the Star Spangled Banner. Cool setup at this place. I like the military inspired theme going in there. Limited menu. Had the brisket which was excellent and tried most if not all of their BBQ sauces, which too were overall tasty. Good sweet tea. Not cheap. I'd recommend giving it a go.
Delicious smoked meat such as chicken on the half with phone, baby back ribs brisket sausage turkey pulled pork. Delicious side especially the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is like he was naked at home if you made it well. Highly recommended.
Best BBQ in Roanoke! The brisket is delicious and the mac & cheese is different but tasty! The ribs have Old Bay seasoning, which is odd at first.
