they have charged me $8 for black and gold instant coffee when we ordered two short black. it tasted like mischievous, maybe it was stale. the worst was that the waiter when he asked for coffee said the machine was out, but then a few minutes later came back to our table and said he could make us a coffee. he should have been honest and said I can't do itpresso, but I can do it right away. at least we would have the choice. the only reason we know it was black and gold was that my friend saw how he smiled out when he went to the toilet. the food was average. not bad, but not great. the service was a bit attentive, even if he felt outdated and separated. as if the waiter simply...read more
we ate yesterday evening at the monsoons melbourne street in a party of 18. I have to say that we were so disappointed in the service. it took them an hour before they took our order and this process was terribly frustrating as the waitress did not understand what a banquet was and could not answer questions without checking with the chef 3 times. we asked how big the tears were, and she said for a person, so we all ordered a service to find out later that it was more than enough for 2 portions. when our food finally came out at 9 o'clock after a 7pm reservation, the rice was not where you could see for 15 minutes. the food and drink service was also filled with...read more
I have been at Monsoon Indian Restaurant few times now. It was utter disappointment today. We ordered the mixed platter and chicken biryani. The pakoda in the platter was half cooked I could taste the raw batter along with the chopped onion. The sheek kababs were mild and not spicy at all. The biryani did not keep as well it tasted something like Kashmir pulav with chicken portions with it. They just had chicken portions with very very less quantity of rice. Rice was to less compared to the portion of chicken they served also the chiken was hard and tasted similar to the tandoori piece frm the platter.the service is quick and staff is polite.
went for a birthday dinner and tried to order a banquet for 6 to which the waitress did not really seem to understand. all night we drank. when the food came out, there were two tiny curries in two tiny bowls and a portion rice (hard even enough for 2 people, let alone 6,) which were only asked for more food. eating was okay, but overall disappointing

I have ordered from uber eats here multiple times because it is DELICIOUS. The paneer pakora are greasy parcels of spicy goodness. The tandoor dhal is fragrant and creamy. The breads are ALL fantastic. The stuffed onion naan especially. Seriously the best Indian i have eaten. 1
we have celebrate my wife's B' Day. the food and service was excellent . we are group of more than 20 and we get their private room. the way they bring Cake was very Special. thanks and good luck to Monsoon team.....
Food- I ordered for mix tandoor platter (apart from samosas,food had almost no flavour or taste),tandoori chicken (was hard and lacked flavour too,vindaloo naan (nothing vindaloo about it) Ambience- Nothing special about it.
Best Indian meals away from home. Had eaten the chicken tikka masala with naan it's was well cooked and flavoersome. However the seek kebab was too dry for my liking. Overall an awesome experience.

returned a little time here and was not very impressed with the food they served. there is so much space for improvement. not sure if this restaurant will visit again.
