Mooncat is a small, tucked-away spot with two distinct areas: one centered around a sushi bar where you can watch the sushi being prepared, and another offering the full menu, including sushi. This was my first visit, and I found the prices reasonable, the menu diverse, and the staff very welcoming. I tried the tonkotsu ramen paired with a karaage combo. Both dishes were delicious, with the ramen broth being flavorful yet light, which I appreciated. There’s also a $5 ramen option—I'm not sure what it includes, but I recommend asking about it. On Friday night, I visited the local farmer's market and decided to try out this restaurant. My son loves ramen, so we were looking forward to it. The service was excellent, and the ramen was exceptional! The prices were quite reasonable, and the atmosphere was beautiful, particularly with the outdoor seating option available due to the pandemic. The best sushi in San Gabriel Valley! We loved it when it was Mooncat, and it’s still fantastic now. The owner, Nakata, creates exceptional sushi, and the service is very attentive. If you arrive without a reservation, don't be upset about the lack of space—it's quite small, so just call ahead to avoid any issues. Also, keep in mind that this is not an all-you-can-eat place; this is genuine, authentic Japanese sushi.
I really enjoy going to Mooncat when the weather is warm because they offer the best Hiyashi Cheuka! It's tasty and goes wonderfully with a beer, and it's satisfying without feeling too heavy. Whether it’s day or night, it’s the ideal place to unwind and savor your meal.

Great food, great service! Authentic authentic authentic! The only thing is that it's a very small place, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. On cold days you may need to sit outside but there is a heat lamp.
