Hubby and I headed here for a drink and a bite to eat before a concert at the nearby Town Hall. We loved it! Service was friendly, and the atmosphere inviting. I love that the old cobbler's shop has been restored here. I had a French rosé, while hubby had his usual ginger beer which apparently was English, and very tasty with lots of ginger flavour. We ended up with a free cheese platter (some miscommunication resulted in our getting another couple's platter-sorry!). We very happily whiled away some time in the courtyard out the back on the high stools. A food truck was due that evening out the back but by the time we left at 7.15, there was no sign of it. It's an unassuming bar that attracts a wide demographic.It took my mother, in her mid 60's, the other night and there were quite a few people in her age group at the place, and people who looked about 18. The drinks can seem pricey- however it's not an RSL, so don't expect RSL prices and you'll be good! Haven't had the snacks but there's a small range available, you can BYO (there's a great little pizza place not far from there) and they have food trucks around for eats.Recommend for night drinks, arvo sesh's or social catch ups.A great addition to Sandgate.
Tap beer is good however food needs to be improved. Food vans outside are more of a hit and miss. With other bars and pubs around Mr.Henderson should concentrate on delivering something like share plates for decent prices. The wait staff should look a little bit more interested as we felt that we were a burden when ordering our beers
Mr Henderson is a great bar. It has a very chilled out theme to it. They also host great little art exhibitions of local artists.The bar itself is trendy and nicely designed.In addition they welcome you to bring your own food so you can easily combine your night time meal with a fantastic selection of alcohol. A great place to meet friends and share a few drinks either inside or on the back patio overlooking a carpark. Toilets upstairs. Food trucks visit .. Check schedule and if stormy they tend to miss... Otherwise go early to the Thai up the road or order Dominos.Cocktails are $15 but fully stocked bar.
Loved this quirky little bar and had no idea it was there ! I should probably get out more...Great environment, relaxed and enjoyable for a Sunday afternoon. Love the food truck in the back area and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. We will be back soon !
Fantastic little bar with good service, nice beverage range and the food trucks on the weekend are a bonus! Loved the fact that you can take your own food, so it was great for an informal gathering where we could supply some nibbles! We will be back.
love the atmosphere - great place to have a quick drink or to meet up with friends. we have also eaten at the pop up van they sometimes had there and that was just ok but they do have different ones from time to time. staff are always friendly. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
