We have visited Mr. Mike's twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. This is a spacious restaurant but is looking a little tired. On the occasion of our last visit, we were the only customers in the place so the ambiance was not at its best.The service was good (with no other customers, it needed to be) and there was nothing wrong with the food which we chose from a sizeable and typical family-oriented menu. It was, in our view, somewhat overpriced - sufficient of a deterrent that we have not been back. It might be a fairer test on a busy evening when the atmosphere is buzzing. All in all, an average experience.
We ate here over the weekend before we went to see a movie. The best part of the dinner was the cheap drinks. Caesars for $5.99 and Sangria for $6.99 and good sizes too. The food was just ok and yet the prices were pretty steep. I ordered the Kickass Chicken Salad and by the pictures it looked like a good size but my portion was maybe lunch size. I was a little disappointed in that - usually a salad as a main is double the size. My hubby had the beef dip - portion was disappointing as well. It was only half of a sandwich... weird? I may come back again to give it another shot but not great option for the prices.
I suppose I should have expected that Mr. Mikes wouldn't be the same as I remember it when it first opened in Ontario. I remember moving along in a line up of people, choosing the steak and cut of meat, veggies and kind of potato and then paying for it, and given a number. It's not that way anymore and it was that initial way of choosing my meal that made Mr. Mikes very special. Today, they have Servers taking your order and steaks that can't compare to the once was. I've been only once, had the best they could serve me and left a little on the sad side.
Had dinner here with 2 children. Service was extremely slow. Food itself was tasty, but overpriced for what it was. $13 for lunch size mac and cheese, plus extra $2.49 for side salad. $17 for a burger, plus the extra for the side salad. Kids meals $7.99, but kids dessert is extra. This is definitely not the Mr Mikes of the 1970s, which had reasonable food at good prices. Bathrooms were pretty dirty.
My husband & I came here for a nice dinner out. What we got was a very dry over cooked, semi-warm burger, tough steak, soggy fries and a feeling of being invisible. The floors where dirty, the restroom not cleaned and a much over the top bill in the end. Our waitress was very sweet though, the only saving grace to the whole night. We won't be eating here again.
My partner and I went for dinner to mr mikes in Mission. Our waiter was personable but difficult to understand. The filet mignon that we asked to be cooked rare was too thin to cook properly so it ended up medium rare. The only part of our meal that resembled filet mignon was the price. We will not be dining at mr mikes again.
Usually my wife and I go here before a movie and was generally good but I've heard it's not good anymore.so we went for lunch and well I couldn't get my teeth through the bun and the patty was over done as well. Salad was bland and fries overcooked as well. Bad day for cook ?. Maybe but not going back for awhile.
During a recent family dinner, four different results for the same order of "doneness" of their steaks. All four diners ordered medium well, end what we got was well done to very rare. Even after two were sent back, results not acceptable. Prices quite high for what you get. Service ok.
the stakes are good here but pricy like all meat now good service nice people great place for steak if you can afford it
