Authentic Vietnamese!. I booked this place after noticing it had won Best Vietnamese restaurant in the recent Restaurant Catering HOSTPLUS Awards. They have also been finalists in previous years. The restaurant is conveniently located on Port rd, just near the Entertainment Centre and tram stop. They have a lovely enclosed outdoor area and nicely decorated interior. The food was excellent, with authentic Vietnamese flavours. The menu is very extensive and caters well for vegetarians. There is also the option of having a banquet. Great food here. The rice hotpot and 'roll your own ' cold rolls are always a winner but we 've never been disappointed by any of the meals that we 've ordered. Salt and pepper squid was good last night as was the combination hotpot that we decided to try. For dessert you can 't go past a fried icecream ball. The owner wanders around making sure that everyone is happy. The service is generally on the mark.
Food: tried the beef pho and rice vermicelli with beef. Both are good dishes, cant really fault them though the noodles in the pho aren't the fresh type like some of the pho focused restaurants.Ambience: a fair bit nicer than the usual Vietnamese. We Like This Place. Dinner last night,service attentive even though they were nearly packed,the food is fresh and tasty and we love the flavours.I think it is Vietnamese with a modern twist,we have come many times and always love the food , maybe not the like Hanson rd eateries but nice all the same. Beautiful place, I enjoyed the company of my family here for my grandfather's 70th birthday and the food, service and all the people were all lovely, a overall great experience. I have traveled to vietnam before and the food here is just as good.
One of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants close to the city, food dishes are really yummy and reasonably priced. Try their steam boats and quail, it's a must. Staff are very nice, and the drinks range are greay
We normally have the grilled quail for entree and combination steam boat for main when we come here. They both very delicious and good value for money. We have tried a few other dishes but weren't impressed.
