Arrived for a one night stay. The evening barmaid was very attentive but the food was awful and the single room cramped and the towel was grim. Morning breakfast was an experience I’ll try to never remember. A fairly dreadful dining experience, and the waitress barked at me where I could and couldn’t sit, (there were four other people eating and the ‘restaurant could seat in excess of 100 I imagine). There was definitely a ‘locals only’ feel to this place, strongly emphasised by Catherine Tate’s ‘Nan’ who was on duty this morning. On the plus side, continuing to chew those sausages will give me something to do on the five hour journey home…
Another waitress took our order and informed us that the fryers had been out of order for two weeks, not just on the day of our visit. We were disappointed that we had not been informed earlier. In addition to the lack of fried options, several other items we tried to order were also unavailable, further limiting our choices. Although the food we eventually received was of good quality and up to the pub's normal standard, the poor communication about the limited menu options was a major letdown. As a result, I will not be recommending The Navigator to others in the future.
I use the restaurant 3 or 4 times a week either on my own or with family including grandchildren. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad meal and have always enjoyed breakfast lunch and dinner in the restaurant.The staff are ALWAYS attentive and friendly giving excellent service, with nothing being too much trouble. My grandchildren just love going there and are always welcomed and served exactly what they want. Can not rate this place too high. Many thanks. Roy.
Last night, I went to the Navigator restaurant with my German family and friends. It was a fantastic evening from beginning to end, with exceptional service and delicious food. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks, especially my German friends who were thrilled. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. The atmosphere at the pub/hotel was warm and inviting. Very dissatisfied as although I’ve eaten here many times and can’t fault the lovely staff, management seem to have removed all the veggie options. No vegetarian roast! Out of a whole menu the only meal I got offered was a veg lasagne. No thanks! Most restaurants are increasing their vegetarian options but it seems The Navigator is doing the reverse.
This restaurant is a pleasant spot for a meal. The food, overall, is of good quality, particularly the fish. The lamb shank can be a bit dry, but it doesn't require so much gravy. This is an area for potential improvement, but all in all, it is a good place to dine in the neighborhood.
Had an absolutely lovely meal here this evening. Shared a combo starter with my dad, included Halloumi cheese, calamari, whitebait, prawns etc. Tasted delicious. Great friendly service and lovely atmosphere. Sat on a table facing the sea.
Just popped in to see what was on offer. I had mushroom wellington and other half had liver and bacon. Absolutely delicious. Lovely homely atmosphere. Lovely wine and coffees. Will definitely visit again. Well done The Navigator Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Been eating at the Navigator for over 30 years and never had a bad meal staff always happy and cheerful. Best views of any restaurant in Bognor Regis direct sea views. Looking forward our next visit.
