While Kovid stopped for dinner. They have a huge outdoor area that they converted into a terrace. its huge and spacious. Tables are at least 20 feet apart. The server was amazing and attentive. He had a lot to do and was still happy, even in the ridiculous heat wave. We were 10 on Saturday. July 2021 and it was hot. Now the food, three of our 5 guests went for the nachos, two had chicken and one had beef and they enjoyed it thoroughly. the 1.50 for extra sour cream and salsa is a little exaggerated. I was born and raised in Thunder Bay and have been to the Neebing many times ,but it just never stood out to me. I now live out of town and was visiting home on the weekend and I took my mom and granddaughter there...for lunch. I was blown away how good the burger was. My husband and I eat out twice a week , and I have many a tasty burger, but this was far the best I have ever had. I had the needing burger. I would suggest just a plain cheeseburger because I took out the pea meal as it was a bit salty. But once I did that, WOW! Amazing. And the fries were a nice dark brown and the gravy was excellent. The waitress was also terrific. This is my new favourite place when I am in town.
Stopped by after a ski for a quick burger and fries. Food tasted great BUT when my bill arrived I noticed I was charged $1.50 for gravy. I did not have gravy so I brought it to the server's attention. They told me the $1.50...was for the bbq sauce I asked to be added to my burger but because they did not have a code for bbq sauce they entered it as gravy. REALLY? Either they entered it in error and were too lazy to correct it or Neebing has really gotten cheap and now needs to nickel and dime for any extra. I think there was probably 3 cents worth of bbq sauce on my burger. Unfortunately this added cost ruined an otherwise decent experience.
We enjoyed a late dinner here after a long day of travel. The menu had many options and the empty portion sizes were quite considerable. Our server, Jayda, was very friendly and made sure that we were well looked after without being intrusive. We screamed with her a bit at the end of our meal and she gave us some great information. The ducks ordered were fish and chips, chicken parmesan and the buffalo chip wrap. The poutine our friend ordered was huge (definitely something to share). We have eaten dinner here many times on our trip north. We have never had any regrets. On our last visit, they were pretty crowded, but were seated right away. The waitress was awesome and the food was good. Lots of food and drink choices....The only comment I would make is the cheese burger. Although is was good, I am used to a larger beef patty. A larger patty to fit the bun would be much better.
we ate here a few times for dinner while we stay in the best western on the road. eating is good roadhouse style eating and the service was fast and friendly. would recommend esp if they are on the south side of thunder bay.
The food was good, but the highlight was my waitress Jayda, who went beyond and beyond with her contagious happiness and her attention to detail. Very recommended!
