I had dinner there over the weekend with my family, and one thing that sets this restaurant apart from Boston Lobster is the ample parking available. New Century Lobster is conveniently located in the shopping area between McDonald's and 888 Seafood, behind Tip Top Sandwich. Since lobster is the star of the show here, let's get straight to it. The preparation and presentation are reminiscent of Newport's style, but the prices are just as affordable as those at Boston Lobster. We ordered a 3-4 pound lobster, which was served over noodles and came with generous portions of lobster pieces, green onions, paprika, and chopped jalapeños. I'm going for lunch. Lunch menu is such a deal I can't believe this place isn't more business. Just as good or better than Boston Lobster on the street, but with better parking and less audience. I love the shells with black bean, but they were made of shells today, so I finally tried the razor clams. I had to pay the $17.99 a pound instead of lunch special price, but still a bargain. The only reason I don't order the razor shells all the time, because the lunch specialties are so good. Since I needed my black bean repair, the server offered to be prepared the fish fillet with black bean instead of ginger like the razor. So cool. Private room was awesome and comfortable. I had Family coming from out of town and wanted a place for great food and conversation. This was exactly as I envisioned. The AC and lights are independent and can be adjusted. We were able to turn the AC down and dimmed the lights. We had ordered a week ahead and got all the dishes we wanted. We also specify steamed and healthy cooking methods for those with diet restrictions. Everything turned out wonderful and we had a great time.

It wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night, and the service was exceptional. My water was promptly refilled, dirty plates were regularly replaced with clean ones, and everything was done with a friendly smile. I ordered the medium lobster with garlic noodles, which came to $80—not a bad price at all. The lobster was meaty and had plenty of roe, and the seasoning was superb. Great service for a Chinese reataurant. Water glasses constantly refilled. Shell plates replaced. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The chef hails from Newport Tang and Boston Lobster so the credentials are solid. Delicious food, big portions. Noise levels not like Boston. Can't think of any other place I'd go now for seafood.

Know what happens to the cooks at Newport Seafood? They start their own places. If you want the flavors that Newport had, try this place. The lobster is fantastic and costs less than Newport's. Try the deep fried fish. It's presented very artistically and you can eat almost whole thing: bones and fins, but not the head.

New restaurant in the old Shaanxi Gourmet room. Enjoyed for the lobster that was delicious, but fell in love with the Geoduck two ways (sashimi and in ginger soup with tofu and cabbage), Geoduck was expensive but absolutely unforgettable.
