Overall, eating here is a pleasant experience. There's a decent variety of food, and the staff are very good. The food comes out relatively quickly, and is reasonably priced. They have a good deal where if you get a sausage or spinach and feta roll, you get a second for $2. (If you buy them from the bakery section they're $3.) But if you get the second with salad it's the usual price ($6). So it's a bit odd that you pay $4 for mixed leaves and relish. The rolls are really good, as is the relish, which is more saucy than chunky. The bakery section has a large variety of sweet foods, as well as breads. If you like Danishes, this is a good place for you, as there were several kinds.
This place is definitely on my list for top scrambled eggs. As you all must know by now, I love a good plate of that protein packed scrambled and the bread to match, it was perfect to start my morning after a night out. The bread at New Norcia's is my favourite in Perth. All different types are great but nothing beats their ciabatta. It's just so crunchy and it has the perfect texture and you just get so satisfied and happy. Anyways, it may just be me because I love bread. The staff were friendly and food came out promptly also. The coffee is sometimes good. The coffee isn't as smooth as I'd like it to be so it tasted a bit bitter but was still enjoyable after a few sips.
3.3 score is a bit generous considering my experience. Service: Waitress was friendly and quick- Tables and seating were clean Unfortunately ... The coffee was luke warm NOT HOT and as for the chicken, avocado and bacon sandwich You would be find it hard pressed to find any avocado and bacon the ingredients were minimal. It was sad sad sandwich. chicken was moist which is a plus. Overall very disappointed, there needs to be ingredients in a sandwich other than two slices of bread.... Unfortunate
Royal Seal of Approval. Always busy and always friendly, this establishment has a warm authenticity about it which is hard to find. The coffee is quality without inconsistency. came here for breakfast with no expectations and was somewhat surprised. The staff were pleasant but a little distracted. I ordered the poached eggs and they came out pretty quick and were cooked perfectly. the coffee got my thumbs up too. I liked the fact that i could also buy bread, which is really really good
Woeful. This morning I had a breakfast special of potato rosti with poached eggs and smoked salmon. The rosti was had as a board - almost deep fried. Inedible. My daughter ordered bacon to accompany her poached eggs. So over cooked it was carbonised. Terrible meal. Never again.
Met a friend for breakfast at New Norcia this morning w no expectations. Ordered the Avocado Smash & my friend has the mushrooms on sourdough. OMG it was delish! The eggs perfectly poached and ozzzing w yolky goodness. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu ????
Had a nice lunch today. Husband had the soup of the day (spiced pumpkin) and a hot chocolate, and I had quiche with salad and a skinny cap. This is a very unique shop with fresh real sourdough breads & cakes. Meals taste OK but not the forte of this place. Cappuccinos were nice too. Portuguese egg tart is my regular favourite.
