Same as the Cafe Boulevard, we took the 50% off food bill promo from the Fork (it is the only one be so generous) to have a dinner here on Monday night.Well, it was a ghost town in the area of Eat South Bank. We occupied the first table of the night. Service is very hospitable and friendly.We ordered the kangaroo skewers and the garlic prawns for entrees and chicken risotto and pasta with seafood marinara for mains.Honestly, we did not expect too much on this local eatery but it gave us an extraordinary surprise on the food it provided.Kangaroo skewers was done perfectly with tenderized meat and accompanied with salad and vinegar. Food:<br/ Calamari, pork belly, slow cooked beef <br/ <br/ Environment:<br/ Lovely waitress who helped us choose our food. Super friendly <br/ <br/ Taste: <br/ The calamari was perfectly soft to bite into, not tough at all. Pork belly dish was a little on the heavy side. My fault for choosing a carb heavy dish.<br/ <br/ Value:<br/ My pork dish had lots of pork on it, couldn’t even finish it. The waitress was kind enough to give us a takeaway container for the beautifully cooked pork belly.
We have mixed feelings about this place... the food was delicious, the price was very good but it just took them ages to bring out the food. It wasn't even that busy and yet my partner and I, along with 2 other couples around us were kept waiting 45 just for a simple sample plater. Overall, we'd probably go there again for the food, but not on a day where we're pressed for time, that's for sure.
Our for a night at the theatre and walking around Southbank looking for a quick bite. What a pleasant surprise.It you’re not bothered by the outdoor tables service was great, food excellent and great value for money.Had seared tuna and seafood marinara.Will be back.
