TL;DR: What seems apparent nowadays is to get the best kinds of breakfasts, or just the more memorable meals out, think less about 'less is more ' and more about modesty or being the quiet kid in the corner working hard and intently on the current project. Nine times out of ten, that becomes the more memorable and quality meal when compared to the hip place everyone seems to be snapping photos onto Instagram. I hope this new addition to Given Terrace does well, it certainly deserves to. Very fresh Vietnamese food and the owners are lovely and keen to offer an authentic menu. For breakfast, our family enjoyed a variety of their dishes I had the breakfast banh mi, the bread was amazing, crunchy but fluffy on the inside, generous serves of bacon. My son had the eggs benny which came with a huge pile of bacon and my daughter devoured her french toast. Food was really well done with generous serves and very reasonably priced. I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious meal at Ngon Brisbane for my first dining out experience post-iso, accompanied by friends. Our order included the beef cheek, pho, and vermicelli combination bowl. The beef cheeks were tender and flavorful, covered in a delectable curry sauce that we couldn't get enough of. The pho was also a hit, with a rich and flavorful broth and hearty beef cuts. The vermicelli bowl was reportedly satisfying as well. A small store with white walls and a little bit of plant decoration, as well as an unique grafitti, Ngon gives off the modern vibe. Came here on Saturday morning, it was rather empty due to the rain. Visited Ngon on a double date with my partner and good friends for dinner on a Friday night. It was very busy which is a good sign so had to wait a short while for a table. The food was really good especially the duck curry, sizzling steak and desserts. The owners were very friendly and interactive and provided exceptional service as well as the other staff. Looking forward to my next visit and would recommend to anyone looking for a place with good Vietnamese food with a nice atmosphere.
As another weekend rolls by, I find myself yet again in Paddington. Honestly, I should probably find myself a weekend home here, and then spend the rest of the week in the southside to get the best of both worlds. Having said that, today I was here for lunch, not breakfast. Having seen a fair bit about Ngon, a relatively new Vietnamese restaurant on Given Terrace lately, we decided to check it out.
This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I decided to grab a quick takeaway lunch since it was my 18-month-old daughter's nap time. I ordered a delicious wonton soup with homemade wontons in a flavorful broth, as well as duck spring rolls filled with generous slices of duck. We dine at this restaurant regularly and are always impressed. The food is fantastic and the service is outstanding. The Friday special, in particular, was the most delicious beef dish I've ever had. This restaurant is a wonderful addition to the Padding dining scene.
