Nico has been on my list of must try places for a while. With its unassuming exterior, one might easily pass it by in favor of some of the on the water offerings nearby, but I had heard great things about Nico 's seafood from locals. My party dined on a weekend afternoon. Since it was the off hour, we had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The interior was cozy and comfortable. As usual, food was quite good tonight, We eat at NICO often. However, their inability to control noisy and rude customers near our table will unfortunately prevent us from returning. While sitting on the patio and attempting to have a normal table conversation, we were overwhelmed with shouting and multiple extremely loud conversations by the table of 13 next to us. When we approached the staff, they were compassionate in their comments but did not take any action to remedy the situation. Really good, I 'm glad I stopped in to check it out. I love the presentation of the oysters, they have a good selection, and the bartender was knowledgeable with everything they had.The main I got duck confit despite not being a huge plate was filling and very flavorful. Super tender. Always a treat finding good duck on the menu somewhere.Atmosphere is lively; it 's a popular place. I wouldn 't necessarily call it loud but if you 're looking for super quiet this might not be the place. As a small area of improvement I felt like it could use some music for extra ambiance.Overall though I really enjoyed the experience. I might have to stop in again before I leave town!
I absolutely loved the Oyster and Baked Alaskan experience at this restaurant. My mom and I visited on a Monday, so we were able to take advantage of the oyster special. The oyster platter that was presented to me was fantastic and truly made it feel like a special experience. For dinner, I tried the burger, which was tasty. For dessert, I ordered the Baked Alaskan and was impressed by how they lit it on fire tableside. It was not only a great show, but it was also delicious! I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant. Keep in mind that parking can be tricky, and some spots require a $50 deposit, but the restaurant will validate it for you.

NICO has quickly become my go-to restaurant in Charleston. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. We arrived later in the evening to find the restaurant bustling but not overly crowded. Our group started with a dozen oysters that were incredibly fresh. For my main course, I opted for the sea scallops, which were hands down the best I have ever had. We ended our meal with the delightful baked alaska and creamy creme brulee. The baked alaska was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend NICO to anyone visiting Charleston.
My first visit to NICO's was absolutely amazing. We tried a dozen different kinds of raw oysters, including a delicious caviar oyster. The mussels were cooked in a butter, shallot, and wine sauce, and the bouillabaisse was rich and full of flavor. Our waitress was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, a fantastic experience that we will definitely be returning to when in Charleston. Parking options include a small free lot and a paid lot, but they comp the parking fee.
I really enjoy the atmosphere at Nicos. The appetizers were tasty, especially the raw oysters. The drinks were strong, but took a while to be served. We ended up ordering a second round that arrived after we had finished our meal. The main courses were mediocre, with some dishes being too salty and others not justifying their price. However, the flounder dish was exceptional. The dessert was delicious. Overall, I don't think we would return to this restaurant.
One of my favorite places to eat! I recommend the oysters, beef tartar, lobster roll, scallops, and baked Alaska.... what a night! Love the outdoor bar space! Brendan was a fantastic bartender! They do have a happy hour Monday Friday 4 6pm on house beer and wine and well drinks. There is a small parking lot so can be hard to find parking, but I believe there is overflow parting elsewhere. Rose and cocktails were good!
