More than a decade after opening, with one of the most expensive menus in town, n/naka is still a hot ticket. The many regulars get priority, so you either have to snipe reservations the second they open, or maybe know a guy who knows a guy. I ended up going the latter route. The service is warm, friendly and approachable never stuffy or stiff as some might expect of a 2 star Michelin restaurant. The menu is an exquisite journey each course a work of art that builds on itself. The tasting menu changes 5 times a year. I’ve wanted to eat here since watching that Chef’s Table episode 9 years ago. It was seemingly impossible to get a reservation back then and was still pretty damn difficult now but for good reason. Simply put eating here is like listening to a perfect album. This is a restaurant you go to for a special occasion because it is so well-liked and challenging to reserve a table. There were uncountable courses served, starting with the appetizers, and every one of them was outstanding and impressive. Three staff members simultaneously brought out each person's dish even though there were only three of us, demonstrating their thoughtful and caring service.
