No. 1 Kazoku isn't that great. I have tried most Japanese restaurants in SGV and Little Tokyo. This place also used to be another restaurant selling the same cuisine many years back, but sold to new owners more than a decade ago. Firstly, the food is expensive for what it is. I once spent almost $100 here just trying a few dishes out. Could have gotten full for cheaper elsewhere. I think they buy their sashimi from Yama Seafood. Might as well go over there instead. The ambiance is great, but I was disappointed that their food just falls short of expectations. They only serve oysters at dinnertime. I would just come back for is the salmon skin salad. This place is awesome for the yakitori and no doubt the sushi too. The owner is really great and helpful. He recommended our order and we went with it. Some things we never had but was really good and surprising. Gets really busy so call in advance and get your yakitori fix on.
Had the best time eating sushi and enjoy the high quality and freshest fish here, their omakase is so yummy, the chef was not shy on the amount of uni and cut, we left feeling full and satisfied, looking forward to coming back again with my friends and family
