My wife and I were passing through from California. So when we saw this place and their reviews we had to try it for ourselves. The entire building and the ambiance is so Japanese. It's amazing. I would know living in Okinawa, Japan for almost 10 years myself. The service was super quick even though they are extremely popular in the area. The food was awesome as well. We didn't even choose a table. We actually had our meal at the bar. Which was super quick and we didn't have to wait in line. The house sake is super yummy. We went with a whole bottle. We stopped at Sakura for dinner after visiting Zion National Park because we were craving asian food. I was a little worried trying sushi in Utah, when we're from CA and there's lots of really great sushi places there and we thought maybe it would be kinda white washed and not as good but we were wrong! We sat at the sushi bar and had a few pieces of nigiri and 3 rolls, and they were all really good! The service was great as well. Our waitress was really attentive and nice, and the host staff were great for clearing us a spot at the bar so we could sit quickly instead of wait in the long line for a table. Decent stand alone sushi restaurant in St. George. Props to our server Josh who took good care of us. Many food options and fun interiors at the location, didn 't feel like you were in St. George. There is an aquarium of tropical fish, and the floor has a game where you can catch fish. The lighting was cool to look at in the lobby. There is even a robot that rolls around carrying sushi trays. There is a hibachi grill and the other side is for patrons who aren 't ordering hibachi. Lots of sushi options available, loved the crab ragoons. Sushi was decent, their secret menu options are worth trying, our favorite was the paradise roll. Not to be missed, will be back to try more options at Sakura...
New building with ALOT of parking but for a Saturday night it was busy as expected. 45 min wait for dine in (was t concerned with the hibachi show) not bad. 1hr 30 min wait if you wanted the show. Nice lobby and fish tank to keep you occupied while you wait. Service was great. Edamame and one of the best California rolls I've seen. We all ordered hibachi style entrees and where it lost a star for me was paying $30 for the Shrimp/Scallop combo and only receiving 3 scallops. We visit friends in St George several times a year. We've never dined in, but always get sushi to go. It's just OKAY. Rolls are skimpy and in my opinion tasteless. Several times we've ordered rolls with eel sauce and have never gotten the sauce. Tonite we ordered 4 different rolls and got just a teeny dab of wasabi. We also ordered two salads. Again, tasteless. The lettuce was wet and the dressing watered down. I guess for this area diners are satisfied but I'm accustomed to excellent sushi in CA. This doesn't even come close. Place was jammed tho!
We got a reservation for one of the tea rooms! It was so fun and such a fun and quaint experience! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive and checked on us a lot yo make sure we were doing well and ask if we needed anything. We came for the sushi as its our favorite sushi place in town! We got Vegas Rolls, Mango Tango, Rowley Roll and Zion Roll. All amazing! The view from the tea room was beautiful and the small seats around the sunken table were super fun! Such a great place!
This is a great place to eat. The lines can be long so be prepared for long wait but it's worth it. I enjoy sitting at the hibachi grill because the chefs are entertaining and fun. I've been told that the restaurant is also very good. Overall the food is excellent and I've never been disappointed.
Incredible sashimi and decent maki options. Awesome atmosphere! 22oz draft beers were perfect for a hot day in the desert. We will return any chance we get! We met the locals who eat there every week. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Th food here is fantastic. The customer service is also top notch. It is pricey, but so worth it. When I get to pick a place to go eat, I always want Sakura!
