Very authentic, delicious and beautifully made pineapple tarts, taste just like the peranakan ones that I grew up with in Singapore. Great for Chinese Lunar New Year celebration. Took some googling to discover a business in Sydney that would make these tarts so am very glad to discover Ikhwan Cafe. Appreciate the baking skills as these tarts aren’t easy to get right at all.. and I also couldn’t find anyone else in Sydney who makes them. I think if advertising goes further to target more Malaysians and Singaporeans community here, would be a super big hit. Amazing Malaysian restaurant. Their location is really good, within 100 meters of pyrmont bay light rails. This place is adjacent to Darling harbour and Star casino with great view of Pyrmont bay. They have great selection of Malaysian cuisine with buffet option but what sets them apart is their ‘pay as you wish’ buffet on every Sunday, their goal is to provide food for people who need it. This buffet runs with the help of their own foundation as well as help from customers. we came especially into this restaurant after we had visited the same in dubai. was so excited to find a franchise in sydney! and it didn't disappoint! the personal was friendly, especially the young man who had been very nice with us. The foods tasted fresh we ordered 1 fried rice and 1 mee goreng noodles. both were good portions and fresh. we also ordered the pink drink with glassy yellow, which was beautiful and the tee tarik was really delicious! the only light leaving is the bathroom equipment that was in order, but could be better. a visit worth a visit! and just a short walk from the train station!
I went to pick up some nasi lemak bungkus from this restaurant. They prepared it fresh when I ordered, so it was still warm when we arrived home. I also wanted to try their laksa penang, but unfortunately they were sold out. However, the nasi lemak itself was very authentic and reminded me of the ones I used to buy from street vendors. The restaurant serves nice, fresh food that is made to order in a clean environment. The iced tea was lovely and the prices and serving sizes were great. We stumbled upon this place and were happy we decided to dine there. There are many more dishes on the menu that we would like to try, so we would definitely be happy to return. The location in Pyrmont is great. Thank you for the delicious meal.
The food at this restaurant is delicious. The service is friendly and quick. The Satay chicken receives a rating of 7 out of 10, Biryani chicken an 8 out of 10, and Prawn sambal petai a 7 out of 10. The 3 layer bandung dessert was served as 2 layers, but still tasted fantastic, earning an 8 out of 10.
the amazing, typical finger-flakes authentic Malaysian eating is ghost flashes! the always so attractive hand-on staff are very affordable prices amazing, the ikhwan cafe qualified to be the best restaurant in the high-end Strategic pyrmont bay area. keep the good work her sunny smiling!
