The restaurant recently changed its name, but don't be fooled by its appearance from the outside. While it may look like a cheap sushi joint in a strip mall, the food is actually top-quality. Despite being a bit expensive for its decor, the sushi is excellent with a modern twist and high-quality ingredients that would impress even in a high-end restaurant in Hamamatsu. The portion sizes are a bit small for the price, but overall, it's a reliable choice for a delicious meal. Highly recommended.
I have visited numerous sushi restaurants in Chicago and across the country, but this one stands out as one of the best I have ever been to! The restaurant may be small, but it exudes a romantic atmosphere. The food is top-notch, with exceptional sauces and nigiri/rolls that rival any other sushi spot in terms of taste, quality, and presentation. Overall, this hidden gem is truly an excellent sushi restaurant.
The sushi was good. I enjioyed the various unique rolls they had. I've been having nightmares about the miso soup though. They give you this thin cup, but a standard size Asian soup spoon. It doesn't fit and you spend so much effort to get the tiniest bit of soup. I couldn't even drink the whole thing because i was so upset about the design decisions that went into this. Overall, would recommend.
Cozy interior, polite and respectful staff, quick and efficient service. Authentic tasting. Udon 3 stars Sashimi 4 stars Tonkatsu 4 stars They have Sapporo beer which is always a plus and they gave me a small glass when I asked for it (yes it matters to me). Insanity. INSANITY!! I'm a huge fan of sushi and I've been to MANY sushi locations. Oba will be very difficult to beat because of the quality range of selections and the beautiful ambiance. The restaurant had a lovely and welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious with incredible flavors, and the menu offered a variety of creative and tasty options. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this place.
Fast service. Very good sushi. The ice cream is delicious. The spicy sushi combo with soup and salad is very filling. The tempura with udon was a highlight. The rolls did not even need soy sauce. Everything was very filling.
