Our fourth visit to this excellent farm to table gastropub located a short walk from the ocean in Melbourne Beach. On trips from Atlanta to visit family in south Florida we often stop for the night at an inn (Port d 'Hiver) in Melbourne Beach and Ocean 302 is located in a strip mall across the street. It is a very popular spot and for good reason. The food and service are both excellent. The sticky duck wings are awesome and highly recommended. On this visit, I had the branzino (European sea bass). It was seasoned beautifully and served with a tasty rice/quinoa mix. Superb. We have eaten there before and have had pizza and salads and it was very good so this time we tried some other entrées. Special was a blackened ribeye. my husband ordered medium rare. He told the waiter. It wasn’t medium rare, and waiter thought he wanted it cooked more so they brought it back a little more dead than it was before. then we had to wait while they redid the steak again. The fish and scallop dishes sound OK but a little disappointing. The scallop had a risotto that was unedible too many sun-dried tomatoes, and Parmesan cheese over powered everything. Anyone that has not experienced cuisine here is sorely missing a opportunity to have GREAT food and atmosphere.. I have lived in Indialantic, Fl for 25 yrs and make the drive at least once a week. The staff and chef are exceptional and truly a diamond in the rough. I have never experienced a bad meal or inattentiveness of staff. It is best to make a reservation especially if you prefer to dine inside.
Atmoshphere was uplifting. Ivan was great, but every bite of skirt steak had a burnt flavor taste and chimichurri sauce was bland to try to mask the burnt flavor, under seasoned green beans. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Always an interesting experience. The Chef does some unusual takes on standard fare with outstanding results. We will return more frequently.
The food was very good and the service was great. We were a large party and they did not rush us out. It was a great evening
