My friend and I ordered from Ochi via Deliveroo for dinner on a Saturday night. I chose the brown stew chicken with rice and peas, while she opted for curry chicken with plain rice. We also shared a side of roti skins. Our food arrived on time and was still hot, thanks to the tightly wrapped packaging. The portions of meat and rice were generous. The brown stew chicken had a dark, sticky glaze and was tender and flavorful. The rice and peas were light and fluffy with a good amount of kidney beans and the fried plantain added a nice touch. I am used to jerk chicken with a dry spice rub. However, here the spices were there dressed in a tomato glaze that adds a refreshing sweetness. The rice and beans were great and the slice of plantain was a nice touch. Refereshing salad garnish...to finish the take away meal. Add a ginger beer or one of their house drinks to enhance the Caribbean experience. Yum! Will be back next time I am in Shepherds Bush. PS. Don't believe the map on Trip Advisor, this venue is a few doors up from the Shepherds Bush Market tube station.
popped in on our way to a gig at Bush Hall. Didn't expect much really as it's not the best looking place, but we were met by a friendly lady who took our orders....we ate in. food was really nice actually. not sure about the...ketchup either, but didn't mind as overall the food was more than ok. it was consistently busy, which is always a good sign although they seemed to have run out of a lot of things, so assume you need to get there early, especially for fried fish. i would go back here if im in the area again though.
My partner has been raving about this place for a while now, so I decided to try it for the first time yesterday. I ordered some dishes to take home and try. The curry goat was delicious, despite having a lot of bones. The jerk chicken was amazing, and the oxtail was also really good. The dumplings were huge, bigger than my head even! All about the food. We had main course between the of us !!! The Jerk Chicken, Goat Curry and Oxtail Stew all with rice peas and plantains. All were delicious. We also had a range of starters including dumplings and patties....Not sure what more I can say than this is the time we have had food from Ochi and we will definitely return.
today I ordered the brown one-pot meat flour, and I inherit and eat rice, which was beautiful and delicious. was well cooked and piping hot on collection. also ordered a firm that was beautiful and soft and fresh again. this is the second time that I ordered from...here and I am still impressed.
No one can make fluffy rice like her. The perfectly cooked plantains. The savory one-pot fish dish with a delicious glaze. The Guinness punch is amazing. The kitchen and dining area are spacious.
