Small selection but had what we wanted and fresh! Muscles and flathead tails at a very reasonable price $10kg for muscles $39.99 for flathead tails. Other options they had fresh were, whiting, scallops, shark, prawns, gurnard, oysters, barramundi and Atlantic salmon Also have some pickle options look to be locally made, as well as some frozen options including tempura battered whiting, scallops and crayfish.
The display of fresh fish and crustaceans was excellent and obviously so fresh. We bought lots of flathead fillets, some duck fish, a local speciality) and large green prawns. We have also ordered oysters and prawns for Christmas. Lovely ladies behind the counter, very friendly and informative.
On leaving Lakes Entrance we thought we would buy fresh fish so off the wharf we went. On getting home the fish looked to us that it had been frozen, we did ask the girl but of course she said that the fish was fresh . We didn’t think so.
Due to redevelopments on the town wharves this is the only option at the moment for fresh fish. The quality and freshness goes without question I just wish it was a more inviting and friendly place.
