There are pub meals and pub meals. But The Old Castle is utterly perfect. Settings are superb, nooks and crannies, not at all the usual school dining room layout. Keeps your dining more private and comfortable. Excellent range of cask beers, good service, and the food? I had a bacon and brie baguette. OMG, the best ever, ever. My friends and my wife had fish pie, fish and chips and pork loin. Plentiful, and superb quality. Prices were very reasonable. Do not think of The Old Castle as being like a chain pub. A lovely Olde Worlde establishment with a lot of character. However, we were all a bit crammed in. The service was very quick in taking both drinks order and meal orders. I was the only one to have a starter (breaded garlic mushrooms), which were delicious but would have done as a main for many people as it was too many as a starter, in fact was able to easily share with the other 3 friends I was with. The main course (belly pork) was again a large meal with extra dish of vegetables. So we were meeting up with family, our first choice of place in bridgnorth couldn't accommodate us as a 5, as they had no large tables!! so we chanced on this place, no tables for 5 but just pushed a 2 and 4 together, not rocket science, but absolutely no problem. Many thanks. Service was fantastic both drink and food orders taken at the table, we all chose a different meal, served together, we couldn't fault any of it, Large portions, all cooked to perfection. Only sorry we didn't have room for pudding. A total bonus it was a really clean and proper size knife and forks which increasingly is a bonus. Top notch place, will definitely be back. It may not be much from the outside but the welcome on a frosty Saturday lunch time was friendly and the waiting staff attentive and efficient. We had hot sandwiches, jacket potatoes, and hot drinks, all were of generous portions and good value for money. We will return again and sample their main menu items which looked equally good as they were being brought out to neighbouring tables. It’s popular so make sure you book a table to avoid disappointment.

Never been here before Wow! What a great place, welcomed as soon as we entered,the place was packed, my friend and I had the last table. The staff are Amazing! So polite and efficient,food came quickly and was hot and well presented. Great choice and prices too. We thanked all the staff on leaving. Thank you all 10/10.
Stopped in for lunch during a trip on the Severn Valley Railway, mainly seeking a beer. We were promptly seated and ended up having a meal as well. All three of us were impressed by the high quality of the food. It was also a great value. The pub is well-run and the staff are friendly.
OMG what a great place to eat, the service from the staff was excellent, the food was amazing and so so tasty and great value for money, I can't recommend The Old Castle enough, it's a definite must try and I will be visiting again, thank you for a lovely afternoon x
Lovely food and lovely customer service. Would recommend for people to come here either with couples or with family friends. Only downside is it felt very crampt when we got there but I know it’s not all their fault.
