OGSS is located in the renovated location of a now gone neighborhood favorite Mckenzies. The latter had a big pour, average food and was a favorite w commuters and families. It was great value. OG has upgraded the menu choices , although I am not sure their clientele was looking for that. The pour is down by an ounce or two and the value is around average. There is a lot of competition in the neighborhood and while the evening bar crowd is still there not sure anything else is. Our meal was good, nothing special and I did not imbibe during my last visit. My sense is the old paridigm worked , the redo is nice but not what the location is about.
Food was mediocre at best. Most likely will not return. Started with the lobster mac and cheese. Barely any lobster it wasn't even real lobster ... tasted like imitation crab meat. Followed with the burger and the orecchiette. Pasta was fine, nothing special. Burger arrived with none of the fixings I ordered and not to the degree of doneness I requested (medium rare instead of medium well). Had to send it back since I'm pregnant. Fries tasted like they came from the freezer section of the grocery store.
We all had a terrific time! The restaurant is so warm and inviting and the food is so good! The mushroom truffle flatbread is too die for! I also love the steak frites, the chicken parm and the lobster burger. The restaurant reminds me of an English club- very relaxing atmosphere. It is a great place to meet friends. The bar is the old-fashioned kind- very large and comfortable.
I recently arrived for dinner at pm on a weekday, and was told that only the abbreviated late night menu was available. That menu has only flatbreads and salads, when I was looking forward to having a cheeseburger, which is done very well at the Old Greenwich Social Club. So I had a martini, which was really excellent, made with some craft Gin, and I left without eating.

The food was terrible. I had fish and chips . The fish was ok but oily and the chips were cooked in old oil, skinny and soggy as they were placed under the fish. Most were burnt. My partner had chicken, which was tough and over cooked. Really sad as even though refurbished still looks like it is from the though) the food is driving away customers. So long.
I had a great first experience at OG Social Club. I would take a few points off for the noise level there was a child sending shrills through the space and a sports game on TV but otherwise it was a lovely spot for a casual meal with friends, a date, etc.
Great place to grab a quick bite. Good menu, excellent service, good food. Overall, I would recommend this place I had the OG Burger. Something different about it vs the typical burger. I liked it. My dining companion had the Pulled Pork Sandwich.
This was the visit. Good family spot for burgers bar food. The ribs were good. My wife's burger was very good.
