Thank goodness for the mature blond woman there today! I placed my order double checked to make sure the cashier with black hair pulled back into a ponytail understood she assured me she did! So I always check my bag before pulling off, and low and behold my order was missing something! The cashier as well as the short Mexican guy kept insisting they gave me my entire order and basically were saying I was lying without saying I was lying!!! The older blonde lady comes from the back and states what she packed for my order and guess what???? Yep, 1 of my items were missing!!!! Who would have thought I was possibly telling the truth!!! The food at the place was great! I got the quarter chicken platter and it was tasty. The chicken was well cooked and not dried at all. I tired all of their bbq sauces and I would say my favorite was the Chicago Fire?. I'm more on the spicy slide when comes to sauces. My second sauces choice would be the Dixie Red because of the hint of smoke to it. Lastly, the staff keeps this place clean and presentable. They check on you to see how you're liking the food as well. I would recommend stop by here for some food. I was debating of coming to Old Southern abbq or Raising Canes, but I'm glad I stopped at Old Southern BBQ.
Delicious BBQ at very reasonable prices. I got the Memphis platter and would highly recommend it. Also enjoyed the variety of sauces at each table. Will visit again if back in the area. Southern barbecue in the northern suburbs. I just ordered meat: brisket and ribs. Both were excellent, well smoked, nicely seasoned, moist but not too fat. I tried three sauces. Chicago Fire was good, but maybe more spicy than I want on barbecue. Southern Gal was too sweet. Chicago Blues was right for me. Very good. I'll be back in the neighborhood next time.
Really helpful with suggestions while ordering. Great lunch spot Cant go wrong with their wings and dill potato salad! Wing meat was falling off the bone and you were able to put your own sauces on. I got the regular size. About 10 wings for $14.99. Sandwiches averaged about $12.50/piece with a side. Everything is smoked and made In house.
We love bbq and this place didn't let us down. The portions are quite satisfying. Staff is friendly and helpful. We tried the Soul Bowl and the Memphis Bowl. And we can not wait to try more dishes. We were happy to see that the menu has GF options. The location has plenty of parking in front and it's easy to find.
