After a long day in Chester, Olive Tree Brasserie was the perfect spot to unwind. Located right in the heart of the city, it has such a welcoming vibe. We were greeted with a smile and, even though it was a busy Friday night, we were quickly seated on the terrace for drinks while we waited for a table. The view over the city centre was stunning, and the outdoor heaters made it cosy. We didn’t wait long before being swiftly taken to our table. The restaurant has a great space, cleanliness and setting. The menu was well-balanced and interesting, and the food was excellent and enjoyable overall. The staff were polite. Unfortunately, the service was poor. The server did not know about the drink options or details about the menu items. There was confusion with the food orders and a long wait between courses. There was also a mix-up with a dessert order which was eventually resolved. The background music was too loud, making it difficult to converse. The Olive Tree Brasserie has potential but needs to improve staff training and communication. Overall, the restaurant has great qualities and with some adjustments, it could be even better...
an excellent late lunch out. at the time of our vist,mid afternoon, it was not too busy. five star friendly staff, Nichol, temporary manager from another olive tree was very helpfull. service was impeccable and a credit to the olive tree staff. ordered meatball kebab that came with half and half chips and rice inc a salad. other half had a chicken kebab with same sides. my meatballs were very tasty if a little well done. only thing i could think as not quite right. the portion sizes were huge! too many chips and rice for both of us but the place for big appetites! would eat there again :
Prawn saganaki Disappointingly poor. 4 prawns in it. Definitely tasted nothing like the authentic Greek dish. Sharing platter for 2 was ok, meatballs were dry and hard though. Board was mainly filled with chips. The service was good, friendly and accommodating. Restaurant wasn’t very busy at all although we were there early evening on a Friday. Such a shame because it could be a lovely place to go with a bit more attention to detail with the food.

We stumbled across this hidden delight by accident and dropped in without a booking. I'm so glad we did, as the restaurant was lovely and quiet (early evening . Staff were helpful in making menu recommendations, and accommodating in making adjustments (half sweet potato and half fries were a game changer! Portions were huge and reasonably priced. We were too full for a dessert unfortunately but would definitely go back again.
The atmosphere was fantastic and the food was top-notch. However, we were disappointed by the service, especially the long wait for our drinks. This delay interrupted the overall experience of the evening. Despite that, everything else was excellent and the waiter was friendly and attentive.
Four of us all ordered the mousaka. Disappointed. Hardly any aubergine or potato. Tasty lamb mince but not moussaka! Staff not interested and didn't pass comments to chef. Obviously all frightened of him as he was shouting at them .
When we are in Chester for the weekend, we always make sure to enjoy a meal at this restaurant. This time, we visited on a Friday night with a live guitarist performing. It was a very enjoyable dining experience.

Didn't eat here just had drinks. Really nice place with outside heated sitting area. Had a lovely glass of wine whilst we people watched. I would recommend.
