Here are some specifics:
1. After being seated, we waited 25 minutes for someone to take our tea order. Instead of allowing us to order, our server spent an excessive amount of time explaining the teas, reminiscent of an infomercial.
2. We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. When we inquired about it, our server acknowledged it as a problem and mentioned it was an ongoing issue.
3. Regarding the food, I've never encountered this before in my extensive afternoon tea experiences. The food was not evenly divided among us, resulting in an inadequate number of tea sandwiches for each person. The scones were cut into quarters instead of each guest having their own, and the top layer...
Went there for jazz brunch on the last day of our Newport getaway. The cocktails were mediocre and the only good thing about the food was the potato patty. I'm pretty sure the only thing freshly made to order were the eggs. I even heard one of the servers tell another table that they were pretty busy that morning and ran out of pancakes (doesn't sound like fresh made to me). The music was really nice, and I wish the food had matched. You would think that paying $70+ for brunch (included two cocktails) would mean a quality meal but that wasn't the case.
Worst dinner experience I have ever had. Not to mention I reached out to the restaurant on 3 occasions via email, to hopefully remedy how terrible our experience was, and received no response. I thought this was going to be a 5 star experience, and I have had better service at a dive bar.
We loved the grand seafood chowder. Lobster, scallops and shrimp in a light sauce. I had fish and chips. Batter fell right off so you could have it either way and it was delicious. Husband had lobster roll and it was good. Nice, upscale, quiet restaurant in the Hotel Viking in Newport.

We had an amazing dinner here outside on their patio and got to experience live music by the Van Pelt duo. They were amazing. Food was all very good and the service was very friendly. Would definitely return!
The food was bland and WAY too expensive for the quality and portions you receive. The service was very slow. There was only 2 other tables. It was nice in there but I wouldn't ever recommend or return.
My wife and I are big breakfast enthusiasts, but we couldn't finish our meals because the taste was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this place for breakfast.

Tomato soup was outstanding. The duck was the highlight of the meal. Will return for sure. Recommended!
The service was very good as were the menu choices.
