Ongi Ethorri - Tisch reservieren

We were wondering round St Jean de Luz with limited time and alighted upon this busy restaurant with tables out onto the pavement. Seems to be family run by a mother and two daughters, who did a pretty good job of covering all the tables between them it was packed inside and out. It made for slightly slow service but it was friendly enough. We picked a set price lunch menu which was three courses of very reasonable food (my wife enjoyed her mussels and I enjoyed all three courses). It was our first visit to the town and we might seek out a more upmarket establishment next time but I think the poor reviews are somewhat unjustified it is quite acceptable

A total disaster of a meal, our meals were all well below average and served Luke warm to cold. The mussels were dry, cold and tasteless, the bread on the table was yesterdays and the sardines Luke warm/cold. I would suggest trying alternate restaurants nearby as we spent 4 days in town and had good meals other than this uncaring restaurant.

Stay clear of this restaurant, we had dinner there last night with friends and every course we had was worse than the last. Stale cold chips, cold Mussels and overcooked fish . Called over the manager who was very rude and said that is how they serve their chips, asked him to try the chips”He declined” think this says it all.

We went to dinner one day of this holy week, the food was more or less, but many people, very piñados and waiters who did not give abasto. We wait a long time between the first and the second, and my daughter's pizzas took a carrier.

Welcome. Good night. The restaurant was crowded. an efficient service, beautiful servers. The plates were well trimmed. good value quality price.
