I recently visited Oriental Congee and was met with an unexpected and not-so-pleasant surprise. Although the restaurant is renowned for its variety of congee, my experience was tainted by a troubling billing issue. I noticed an additional charge on my bill that I had not been informed about or agreed to. When I asked about it, the staff dismissed it as simply a 'tip.' This unrequested addition felt unprofessional and infringed upon my rights as a customer. Being charged extra without my consent is unsettling and creates a sense of distrust. I was driving by and noticed a new place offering congee, so I decided to check it out. They have a variety of traditional dishes, including congee and rice noodles. I chose their signature dish, the Oriental Congee special, which featured BBQ pork, cuttlefish, fish cake, and various pork delicacies, all topped with a generous serving of red skin peanuts and served with an egg steamed rice noodle. The flavors were decent, and the rice noodle was freshly steamed. Since this was their first week in operation, I'm curious to see how things improve. They currently have a 20% off grand opening special, but my discount only applied to the lowest-priced item, not the entire order. I'll visit again...
We were idiots and wanted to have congee on the hottest day of the year. We went early in the morning and even though we were the only customers, they were really busy with take out orders. The congees were good and flavorful and didn?t turn watery like ???. I highly suggest the pork liver. It was perfect and it is very hard to get the perfect texture. The rice noodle was good too. We would definitely be back whenever we are in town again.

Would highly recommend this place not just for good congee, but really great and tasty food. There was a wait, but it was worth the wait. Very affordable too. My family and I can't wait to go back!!!
