We dined as a couple on a mid-week evening. Every dish we ordered was full of flavour and a generous portion. However, the service was disappointing and frustrating. Firstly, we waited rather too long for our simple bruschetta starter, which was finally served at the...same time as the entree. As the entree was very filling it was too much food to eat in one serving. A table of arrived during this time, and obviously the chef/management policy was to serve all their platters of starters/entrees, in preference to completing our main meal order. We twice asked the waitresses about mains, with their reply that the group had to be served their first courses ahead of us! I could see the chef work...
What does ottimo mean in Italian? Who cares but it can mean great' and then there is also cucino' for kitchen but whatever this Italian restaurant is a real treat for the hardcore Italian cuisine lover or the adventurer of spicy Mediterranean style foods. The...cuisine is creative, portion control is ideal, and the choice of meals is reasonable. As a BYO on some week nights, the restaurant offers sensible seating, acceptable decor (although it could be a little more traditional). But why do you visit such a place for the food. Ottimo was always our go-to restaurant close to home. We visited this weekend and were sadly disappointed by change of menu service and quality. The familiar ponytail bearing waiter was gone replaced by a pleasant by inattentive teenager. The old changeable menu has been replaced...by a booklet of dishes which we guess will not change too often. The seafood pasta was undercooked and sent back. My lamb ragout cannoli was ok but bland. Disappointed we thought we’d give the dessert menu a look but what had been delicious in the past has been replaced with bog standard Italian dishes from a cheap suburban bistro. We declined and so we got the bill. for two mains and a bottle of sparkling water....
We are regulars at Ottimo and have spent many happy evenings there. However last night the service was utterly appalling the waitress did not know what the specials were and said she would send someone to explain? minute later Noone had arrived so...we called someone over who proceeded to tell us that half the dishes were unavailable... After our mains we waited and waited and waited no one came to clear our plates let alone show the desserts menu. No water fill ups either despite other tables being offered it. We paid but didn’t tip. You can do better Ottimo

We were lucky enough to get a table for Father's Day and what a great I can only call it feast' we had! It was a set menu this time; the dishes kept on coming and we could not fault any one of...them. A delicious mix of flavours (adored those zucchini flowers in a divine mushroom sauce) and beautifully served by delightful waitstaff. The herb crumbed pork cutlet was thick and juicy and the calamari cooked to perfection. We sat outside in the closed garden and basically just enjoyed ourselves to the full. Would we recommend? In a heartbeat!
We lunched at Ottimo yesterday. Once again the food was great as was the service. Great value for money. We have been here several times and Ottimo never fails to deliver
Have been going here for years and each time the food is sensational. The waiters and friendly and service great. The food is authentic and will never disappoint you.
Congratulations John and team. Ottimo have setup the plasma in the courtyard with heaters and decorations. Great food, service and atmosphere. Go the blues.

The staff were very patient with us all and looked after us extremely well..the food was great and plenty to eat for us oldies thank you Ottimos
We have been here a few times and it never fails to serve great food at reasonable prices. BYO also available.
