However our dinner tonight to celebrate my mothers birthday was a disappointment. 2 couples ordered the share steak plate, which was a good size, both were ordered medium, one came out well done and the other whilst perfectly cooked was full of grizzle. This comes with one side dish, which was a small serve of frIes, which is way too small. The meal also comes with one small bowl of potato soup to share between 2 people. Back in America the Outback Steakhouse was our go to place for anytime we wanted an affordable but good meal. We are so delighted it has opened here! My favorite is the Outback special. I get a ceaser salad with it and usually a jacket potato- fully loaded! The yummy free bread at the beginning of the meal sets just the right tone for the deliciousnes that is to come. The Aspley Outback makes a great Long Island Ice Tea, too. We rarely have room left for dessert because the portions are so nice... but from time to we have shared the is it Chocolate thunder??? I have been to the Outback Steakhouse in Aspley a number of times and have generally been happy with the quality of service and the meals. However, my family and I went there for dinner last night and it was a completely different story. The service was terrible and there were a number of issues with the food. For example, we had to ask four times to get a bottle of water for the table which ended up taking about 30 minutes to arrive. One of the steaks came out completely cold and had to be sent back. When the steak came back the sauce had been removed and no additional sauce was provided. There was no side salad provided with one of the meals. Overall a completely disappointing evening and...
We used to love this place, but this last time we went it seems they've taken a few of the dishes off the menu (my husband and son are huge steak lovers but I usually go for their other dishes which there is less variety now). What was really disappointing was I went for the soup and side salad combo with prawn add-on. The soup was good, and the prawns on the salad were delish but not good enough to charge $8 per prawn. Yes, there were only 2 prawns, and the add-on cost was $15.95. We did question the waitress who said that was the 'add-on' cost. So for Soup and side salad (small) ($13.95) with 2 prawns cost $29.90.

We ordered a steak meal and a burger meals. We skipped entrees so order a beer each. We waited a while for the beer to be then offered a cider!? We said we ordered a beer, bot a cider so we then waited again. Meals came, chips were cold and the medium steak was well done. Vegies side was 7 bits of small vegies! The couple opposite didn't finish their meals, they noticed that we noticed and they said their meals wasn't good. We won't be back for a long while.
The place could do with a major renovation. It is dark and drab and the music was too loud to have a decent conversation. The table service was poor and slow. I had to get up twice - once to ask an attendant to come to our table to take orders and the second time to ask for our bill. My steak was tough and stringy - the spring salad was sprinkled with cheese. The management and owners need to consider whether they are serious about serving great steaks.
The food here is always good. Simple basic fare of steak and burgers with some pasta and fish. But the steak is always cooked to perfection. The service has improved since our last visit, but the music is still too intrusive to enable easy conversation. Can be pricey for some items.
My wife and I dined at this establishment recently, we were well looked after, food was great, and had no issues. Menu caters for everyone's budget. Service good, but can be a little over the top. Will go back again...

We visit the Steakhouse often for family outings. This may be a steakhouse, and their steaks are exceptional, but their non-steak menu options are also very good. The Ahi Tuna is amazing!
