Our experience at Palm Court Italian Grill was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, the host at the entrance was welcoming and very accommodating. Our waiter, Abdella, clearly took pride in his work. It was refreshing to find this level of quality and service in such a traditional setting. As someone with celiac disease requiring a gluten-free diet, Abdella made sure that my dietary needs were taken care of from substituting rolls to side dishes. Chef Bill not only demonstrated his mastery in the kitchen but also personally checked on the meal he prepared for us. The moment my wife and I walked in we could feel the lovely atmosphere coming from the clean surroundings and fantastic aromas. With white crisp table cloths our waiter, Abdella, began our evenings of fine wine and dinner. He was a tremendous waiter in every respect. To end the evening, Chef Bill came to our table, checking to see if our meal was satisfactory. His meal presentation matched the flavorful, mouthwatering choices will had of Penne Alle Vodka and Parmmigiana D Melanzane V. Chef Bill also gave us some great tips on where to visit while at St. Petersburg.
the palm court is a hidden gem. eating is excellent. our party had cocktails, appetizers, dinners and desserts and nothing disappointed. beef carpacio was amazing. excellent service. the prices are somewhat high, but the portions are generous. specials by chef bill were well thought out and beautifully presented. seafood and steaks were perfectly cooked. we almost went back to the next night. we would have gone if the chief had crazy chocolate cream bubble! would definitely return. must check this when you visit st. pete beach.
The waiter was a 3, not very friendly or engaged. The food was a 5. The hostess was a 5 because they were very helpful and friendly, which was great. I had the grouper with risotto, which was delicious. The dish had vegetables like tomato, olive, carrot, broccoli, artichoke, and a boiled lemon wedge. The grouper was fantastic. Been coming to the Tradewinds since the 80s and have eaten here several times and it was always underwhelming. This time Chef Bill is in the kitchen and we had a really special meal. The calamari fritti was different but very good (missed the tentacles). I had a very different penne ala vodka that was excellent. Finally I had Saltimbocca over risotto which again was quite different and something really special. Our waiter, Matt, took very good care of us the entire evening.
I would give this restaurant a rating of 3 out of 5. My friend and I, both women over 60, opted not to order drinks or wine as we had already had a drink at the beach bar. The tables were quite close together and the waiter seemed to not even take our orders. The pasta dish was a bit runny, but my special request was accommodated without any issues. The bread with oil was excellent.
The calamari was terrible, it’s a strange cut that feels like clam strips and fried cheese bits. The burrata was soured- tomato slices paper thin and yellow. The pasta entrees were ok but grossly overpriced. I’m not sure how this made the top list of places to eat but I’m sorry it did because it’s really pricey. Pastas for $30 should taste better than this.
I expected far more than I got at this restaurant. We were placed outside without any fans and the bugs were annoying. The waiter Francis, held himself in very high regard. The best meal we had in St. Pete Beach. Fabulous grouper! Excellent service from Chef Bill and server Hassan. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Highly recommend!
