I had a really frustrating experience at this restaurant. The person at the register struggled to understand our order and almost placed it incorrectly. Thankfully, he repeated it back to confirm, but then he quoted us a total of over $50 for two pizzas, which was acceptable. However, what really bothered me was when he reached over to the card machine and added a tip without asking. I was definitely going to tip, but it's quite audacious to add your own tip after almost messing up our order! We were so close to leaving right then and there, but I’ve been looking forward to Papa John's all week and drove 30 minutes to get there. In downtown Port Chester with very little parking. There are metered parking spots to the side and a Walgreens around the block. The counter people were nice and helpful.I have never been to a Papa Johns and I wanted to give it a try. I wanted to relive my childhood nostalgia and got the stuffed crust pizza. For fast food pizza, it definitely wasn't bad. I thought the dough was kinda bland but the stuffed crust really saved the day. The sauce was the bad, it reminded me of Pizza Hut from back in the day. I had an extremely disappointing experience at Papa John’s in Port Chester, NY. My friend and I ordered pizza, and when we requested tap water to go with our meal, we were told it wasn’t available and were pressured to buy expensive bottled water instead. It’s very disheartening when a restaurant prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction, especially when we had already paid for our food. This kind of service leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I hope Papa John’s takes customer concerns more seriously in the future. How does this Papa John's compare to those in Southern California? If I could rate the customer service and pizza quality with 10 stars, I absolutely would! There was an older gentleman, who I suspect might be the owner due to the "family-owned" sign on the front door. He provided exceptional service and was genuinely warm and welcoming. He even suggested other pizzas at great prices, though I politely declined since I couldn’t finish what I had already ordered. My girlfriend can be quite particular about her food, especially pizza, but she absolutely loved it. She remarked that it was made just the way pizza should be. I placed an online order for pick-up, but when I arrived, the owner informed me that he hadn't prepared it, even though the order had been confirmed. He offered to make it for me right then, but after driving 20 minutes to get there, I was not willing to wait any longer. My pizza was supposed to be ready when I got there, and I couldn’t wait another 20 minutes. I asked to cancel the order and left feeling really frustrated. I don’t think I’ll be coming back, as it felt like the owner didn’t really care.
The pizza with garlic sauce was exceptional! The brownies were delightful as well. However, I ordered a regular Pepsi with my meal but ended up with a Diet Pepsi, which was a bit disappointing. Despite that small mistake, the food was truly fantastic!
Pizza is delicious. Very prompt delivery. And when I called to have some thing added to the order, the gentleman who answered, was very kind and accommodating. No complaints at all. Very good experience. Will definitely go back again.
The pizza was tasty, but it felt a bit expensive. The customer service in the front of the house could use some enhancement.
