I went to the Chalkwell Rooms to see a local band play live music on Sunday afternoon. Everything about the experience was a nightmare from the moment I arrived. From the silly girl who was unable to work the pre-paid ticket machine which meant hanging about outside the venue all the way to the manager who was just as uneducated and hopeless. The band was poor and I can’t really blame them. The attendance was embarrassing. No more than a dozen music fans in a large venue. Drinks were expensive and the whole atmosphere was extremely disappointing. I don’t know how the people managing this concert can look themselves in the mirror. They ruined for everyone an event I was so looking forward to....
We held our daughter’s first birthday party at Chalkwell Park Rooms and it was a wonderful experience. The communication from Richard from the start of the booking process was excellent, and the service from the staff on the day was very attentive and efficient. The room was a perfect size, with ample room for all of our guests and an indoor bouncy castle and soft play set! The food for the buffet was also really good, and had lots of compliments from our friends and family. It is my first time using the venue but I wouldn’t hesitate to book again, the staff made it such a seamless process for us all. Thank you!
The evening at this restaurant was absolutely wonderful, thanks to the delicious food, excellent service, and friendly staff. It was an annual charity dinner with around 50 guests in attendance. The menu was extensive and the wine list was satisfactory. The venue also had an overhead projector and large screen for a presentation. Overall, it was a fantastic evening that greatly contributed to raising funds for the charity. Kudos to Richard and his team for a job well done!
I'm so disappointed with the little kiosk that adjoins to, possibly part of Chalkwell Park Rooms. It's an honour to be the ones serving the community here. The staff are miserable and unhelpful, the prices are extortionate, the tables where you eat the food you have purchased from them are filthy sitting on rubbish and cigarette butts that are never cleaned up. There's no attempt to recycle rubbish and a muddy and dirty ice cream container for dogs to drink out of.

We held a charity lunch at Chalkwell Park Rooms yesterday and the feedback has been amazing. The lunch was delicious and we had a choice from five starters, main courses and desserts plus coffee and chocolate with offers of refills. On our table of ten we just about covered all choices and everyone was delighted with their food. Thank you to all the staff who offered a friendly and professional service. We will be back.
We held my father's wake at the Chalkwell Park rooms and from start to finish, Richard and his staff were extremely helpful. They alleviated any stress on an emotional day for us. Richard was very prompt in responding to all my emails, and the buffet was excellent and plentiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them for any event.
I hired Chalkwell Park Rooms for my daughter's 5th birthday party. There is plenty of space and the staff were all very helpful and helped to make everything run smoothly. I also booked catering through the venue which was really good food and more than enough for the party. Lots of comments on how good the chicken nuggets were! Would use this venue again.
We reserved this venue for a wedding reception on October 22nd. The room rental is based on hourly rates, with catering added on top. We chose the option with ten food items. Our guests were impressed with the venue and the food, and we had a fantastic evening. A big thank you to Richard for making everything go smoothly.

What an amazing venue. Richard helped us along the way with planning our party and could not have been any more accommodating. The buffet was high class and the staff could not be more friendly! If your having an event this is a great choice!!
