Treated horribly at Pastis this evening. We arrived about an hour before our reservation just to see if we could get in earlier. The restaurant was busy and the doorman was only letting people in who had reservations, so I told him we did and he let us in. We spoke with the maitre'd who told us he could seat us in 30 minutes, so we decided to walk around the neighbourhood until our table was ready. Solid French food with a reasonable price for this kind of place in Meatpacking. The escargots, onion soup, and branzino were delicious. The croque madame was also excellent, although next time I'd probably go for the croque monsieur (same thing without the egg on top). The atmosphere was nice as well. A bit loud, but you can still have a conversation.
Utterly delightful meal! And Caleb, our server, was attentive and wonderful. We indulged in the roast chicken with the most decadent au jus we've ever had. The whole table was dipping the wicked crisp french fries in it, so as not to waste a single drop. Have never had a better meal at a French restaurant, not even in Paris itself.
Lively and mature crowd. Sat at the bar and enjoyed some tasty food and drinks. If you’re lucky you’ll be tended by Chris. Your visit will be elevated because of him.

Took my wife for her birthday We sat on the outside deck warm and cozy with a heater. The place was packed for lunch. Escargot excellent as a French fries
Cozy atmosphere, nice setup for a brunch. Wide food choice. Nice sparkling wines. Large portions. Yogurt with granola and fresh berries def recommended
Excellent mussels and fries, wonderful Thanksgiving dinner choices, and abundant outdoor dining with heaters
Really loved my gruyère omelette. Also really enjoyed the pastry basket — would recommend!

Delicious fish, cooked perfectly. Interesting cocktails and nice ambiance.
Burger was good but fries were really average.
