We started with cidre en fut, and homard with a vanilla celeriac mash. Yum. Then we diverged with a steak frites, petoncle with small dabs of pulled bbq pork, and a pork chop over beans. All yum. We ended the divine repast with pudding chomeur and carrot cake. The pudding is out-of-this-world. Instead of cream or ice cream on the top, they melt a bit of cheddar. Ahhh. ...the dishes that we tasted lacked salt, pepper and the oomph that makes you want to come back for more. Otherwise, the place is great for dinner with a group of friends where originality is in the napkins, pot Masson drinks and in the presentation of the menu. After three months of operation, a lot of things have changed on the menu and the chefs improve their plates constantly therefore it deserves to be given some time and more than one visit. And take some friends that way you’ll definitely live the purpose of this lively, urban eatery.
Easily my best meal in Quebec City. We attempted L'affaire Est Ketchup, but they were full and recommend we go to Patente et Machin down the street. What a great place. The servers were great, so friendly, fun. The chef was something else. We had seats at the bar, best seats in the house by far, and the chef was in the zone, and created amazing meals! The bison is absolutely spectacular, and I would definitely have it again. My friends had the steak frites and the ragout, and those are also amazing. We left full and satisfied, and smiling.
