Great experience!! The food was fantastic we opted for the premium set menu and were not disappointed. As my partner has a shellfish allergy she wasn't able to have the oyster (shame as it was excellent) however I was somewhat envious of the faux scallop dish that they substituted for her. The wallaby tartare was her favorite while I was taken by the octopus. Each course and paired wines were very enjoyable and the atmosphere of the place was pleasant. Lounging in front of the fire place with the cheese plate sipping whisky was a perfect way to complete the meal. All the staff were great with a special mention to Charlotte and Sonia for making the experience even more enjoyable.
We had the tasting menu, and it was really disappointing. The Wait staff were lovely, but after they enquired about our fish, and we responded with not good, they didn't ask again. We had the tasting menu, the wallaby was outstanding, the curdy nice and the octopus average. 2 really small pieces of bread Both the main meals fish and porcetta were frankly awful. Dessert was nice, lucky as still hungry. The hotel is lovely, we were here for a special occasion, this restaurant just disappointing
what an amazing vegetarian. the impressive dégustation menu is perfectly mirrored between meat and vegetarian protein options. they have never felt the second best to feel, just ask how the chef takes off this culinary masterpiece. To be honest, this is one of the best vegetarian meals I've ever had. if they struggle to find a restaurant that will impress both meat and veggie dinner with the same experience, then peacock and jones is the answer for them.
Great restaurant with outstanding staff. We arrived early and were place at a table overlooking the restaurant. Our waiters were very attentive and happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. The beef tartare was great and flavoursome. The lamb ribs we beautifully well cooked and falling off the bone. Forgot to take photos of our mains as I was having such a good time. I would highly recommend this place for a nice romantic diner.

What a wonderful restaurant. Such innovative creativity these chefs express in they're passion for modern food. All front of house staff were lovely, knowlegable and entertaining. Great old world atmosphere. Not a large but very good quality menu. The next table somehow knew there was an additional vegetarian menu. Would have been good to know. Excellent choice of Tasmanian and other wines. We especially loved the fish of the day and chicken liver pate. Recommend for a special night out.
I really can’t fault this place. The service was great, the food was fantastic (we did the 6 course tasting menu) and genuinely ate some of the best octopus and fish I’ve ever had. Obviously pricey but worth it imo. Very impressed!
