Per my mom's request on mother's day she wanted this place so, I abide. I called prior asking if they have any tables available because of the holiday, they were nice enough to let us know that they do. About an hour and a half later were at the front door with a little wait. Prob 10 minutes until we were sat. Okay so call me incredibly impressed. I had to come here 2 times in a row to try my favorite dishes, and was blown away by the quality of the food, and the flavor. I've eaten in China Town, in both Los Angeles and San Francisco. I've eaten in Westminster, which had my favorite Chinese food restaurant. Best Chinese Szechuan restaurant in the city! Not only in food the service is top notch number one! If you want to have a good meal what does abnormal, nice kind and friendly Chinese staff, this is the place! Not being racist to just saying that...in most Chinese joints, you don't go there for the service! LOL it's true right?! well, this restaurant breaks that stereotype! They also have a buffet which I have not yet tried but I've heard a lot of good things about it. It's small and selective and essentially is unlike those Chinese buffets you see around town. I've visited this restaurant four or five times now, and I genuinely love the food! Kung Pao Chicken is my favorite, so I can be a bit picky since I have a go-to spot in Chinatown, L.A. However, I'm always on the lookout for something similar closer to home. Phoenix Garden offers delicious entrees, excellent customer service, and fantastic prices, including lunch specials that are easy on the wallet! I've dined here several times for both lunch and dinner. Dinner is especially great because we can order various dishes to share. Yeh or Meh? Meh. Based on what we picked to eat, I can't honestly recommend this restaurant until I have had other dishes. It honestly wasn't very tasty for us. Maybe an off day but I can't honestly say I enjoyed it. Highlights: Yogurt covered fortune cookies. Yes I find it hilarious that the best part of the meal came at the end. Food ordered: Honey Walnut Shrimp and Orange Chicken. Like I said pretty average as far as these dishes go. Amazing food! The food is so delicious and fresh! The make the food so quickly within 5 minutes of ordering and they are so kind. Great for having big groups! UPDATE My family and I went to Phoenix Garden about 2 weeks ago and there was a notice on the door saying something about the rent not being paid. We looked inside and it looked like the owners had abandoned shop; all the tables were gone and there was barely any furniture. Not sure what condition it's in now, but I thought I'd let you know that they might not be there anymore.
I was here twice and both times were spectacular! The food is delicious! The waiters are very friendly. I recommend getting the black pepper. Comes in a sizzling platter and the taste is phenomenal. For 3.95 more you will get a soup, fried shrimps, egg roll and fried rice with your meal. Definitely recommend going here.
Service here is great and the food is delicious. If you come for lunch your plate comes with rice and a soup. Some of my favorite dishes here are the honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, and the green beans. They use to give chocolate dipped fortune cookies but now they're just packaged generic plain ones.
I love this restaurant! I've been going here since I was born (literally . Whenever I am craving delicious Chinese food, I come here. They have the best Hot and Sour Soup I have ever tasted. We celebrate almost all of our family celebrations here. Love the staff. They are always so helpful. :
