This is an A-OK place to stop by. I have visited a couple times when I was between events and wanted something I could take with me. While you can eat here (and I have) I think it of it more as I spot to get something when I an running between locations. One of the things I like about this strip mall is that I can place an order for Thai and then grab a coffee and any office material I might need while it is being prepared. My usual pick for Thai places is yellow curry with chicken (with some seasonal variations). I always ask for it Thai hot and different places provide different results. Unfortunately, my experience was both my first and my last, as I can't compare it to anything else besides a few small dishes I've tried from other menus. This meal ranks among the worst I've ever had. It was supposed to be a special treat for my husband's birthday, but it ended up being inedible. We ended up feeding the chicken to our dogs and throwing the rest away. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, who immediately took a defensive stance and explained that my criticisms were just part of how they prepare their food. I visited this restaurant for a quick lunch while my car was being serviced. Upon entering, I was immediately struck by the run-down appearance of the place. There were soda boxes and crates of water bottles strewn near the entrance, and the lack of decor or ambiance made for a rather uninviting atmosphere. We ordered red curry and Pad Thai, and while the food was decent, I found it to be overpriced at around $15 per dish. Considering the overall experience, including the small portion sizes, I would rate it as expensive. It felt more like sitting in a cramped space surrounded by soda boxes than enjoying a meal out. I ended up spending over $30 but left still feeling hungry.
I’m not sure how to tell you this but Thai pilin is simply the best Thai restaurant in Northern Virginia. Yeah, it might be a hole in the wall at a run down shopping center but the food is done authentically by Thai people who barely speak English. These people serve up the best damn Thai food and I can say this because I had several Thai families bring me Thai food when I was working with them. I’ve also tried numerous other Thai restaurants. I was in the mood for pad Thai and, since I wasn't familiar with the Tysons area, I discovered this restaurant through Yelp. The pad Thai was delicious, and I particularly loved the seafood version, which had generous chunks of scallops. I definitely recommend it if you're around. They also offer delivery, which is a nice bonus. Plus, they serve beer and wine!
I had some of the best Thai tea I've tasted since leaving Asia! I visited for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, and the place wasn't too crowded. I placed my order, and the portion size was just right for my appetite. The staff was friendly, the location was convenient, and the food was absolutely delicious. I would definitely visit again!
If you're a fan of cats, you absolutely have to try the spicy cat dish! The soft-shell crabs and 'man tok' were also delicious. I've been visiting this restaurant for 10 years now, and I've never been let down. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Thai cuisine!
How is this place still open?? Thought it would be normal Thai and ordered the most basic dish (pad Thai). Tofu was dry and hard. And there was hair in my food!!!!!! Gross. Stopped eating it. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The food overall is fantastic, especially the spicy catfish—it’s a must-try! Make sure you don’t miss out on the mango with sticky rice for dessert!
