"A friend invited us to dine on wild pancakes in the mountains outside Argeles-sur-mer and Sorede, but after the amble up the narrow, winding road the place he remembered was no longer there. Instead, very close by, a family was operating a June-September bistro with a surprising variety: canard, poulet, gambas, salads, as well as waffles. And oh yes, fondant au chocolate. The colorful seating was arranged under a canopy of trees and vine-shaded awnings. The service was prompt and pleasant. We were greeted by ducks and chickens, and entertained by the host dog and neighbor cat. The food was as tasty as any we 've had in rural or urban France. We will be back."
