Plateau - Tisch resevieren

Chose to eat here with my husband on a Saturday evening after reading reviews on Tripadvisor and we went in with high expectations. The menu sounded very interesting and the place seemed very buzzy. We were seated upstairs and our orders taken quickly, which was good. Whilst we were way for our drinks though we noticed that, as some other reviewers have mentioned, the music was very loud and we were having to shout to communicate. This ended up being quite tiring by the end of the meal! When I went to toilet downstairs, I noticed that the music was just as loud (maybe even louder) downstairs. We had booked a table for lunch at Plateau. It was kind of quiet when we arrived and we were welcomed friendly. A nice cosy location. Kind of private, with some people reading a book, with a glass of wine. A great place for a great bite, a nice wine and a chat with locals and Nick, who was serving us. He was even able to share a location in Clairemont Ferrand worth visiting for a dinner. We were passing by there the following day. So, Plateau, many wines , cocktails and much more. We ordered a Franchement, for myself. A nice Cabernet with a woody taste. And an OP Sepp Muster. We went for lunch today. We used to go often in the past, but slowly the quality of food went down; there is no consistency. The food was very oily and did not taste great in general. We complained to the waiter (in the most kind way possible), who did not take it very nicely, saying that the kitchen was quite busy, which explained the quality of the food. It was a disappointing experience. I don’t think we will be back, and neither will our friends.

Despite being Brighton residents, we’d never been here before. But took a punt and it was amazing! Really cool place. Small and intimate but a great relaxed vibe. I tend to be critical of restaurants but couldn’t fault this place in terms of food, drink and service. Everything was balanced and lovely, even the loos were cool,lol. This is my second review of plateau 8 years on from the last. It's not our second visit though we always go to plateau when I'm Brighton 6 or so times a year. It's so laid back whilst keeping standards very high. Exceptional food, wonderful wine and marvellous, knowledgeable, engaging staff. I didn't hug the waitress this time I asked first the last time) but I could have. Lunch here is exceptional. Evolve yes, but don't change. Thank you

I can’t believe it’s taken us seven years-having had a beautiful cocktail here-to come back to Plateau. This really is a fabulous place, full of gorgeous attentive staff an amazing menu…small plates of locally sourced heavenly food. Everything was wonderfully presented tasted absolutely glorious. The atmosphere was buzzy warm the music being played was spot on. We had a superb evening can’t wait to return!

Fab attentive service and choice of wine . Had some amazing small plates inc mussels with nduja cannelloni beans with kale duck terrine . Fantastic veggie choices of fritters , amazing beetroot butternut squash orzo . We are not local but would definitely come again!!!

Great ambiance, bare brick walls and low lighting, a buzz of animated and satisfied diners. Mainly small plates, all bursting with flavour, a great selection of wines from smaller vineyards, superb cocktails. Service was spot on too. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Lovely food in small portions, the tartare and the oysters were delicious. The wine list was good but too complicated if you are not knowledgeable
