Debbie and all staff at the Plattdeutsche are incredible at what they do. From the moment we first met with Debbie we loved her and were confident booking our reception. She is extremely personable, communicative, detail oriented, honest (which I found so refreshing) and such a sweetheart. Debbie and I hit off off and even though I can be a crazy one she embraced it and was always patient with me and my nuttiness. We did not feel even remotely confident with our previous venue and with her it was instant. I’m only reviewing based on the private event, I was invited too, but not the actual casual dining. On June 17, me and my family we were invited to graduation party, and I brought my baby with me, they provided a seat for her but the seat felt flimsy, my husband tried to ask for another seats and they told us they did not have any more baby seats available, how is this possible? Me and my husband we both had the salmon and I noticed that my salmon felt undercooked, the cake was great that was offered, I want my husband try to take some food to go with him. They did not let him take the food or anyone else take some food home, they ended up, throwing it away, which I thought was a waste of fo...
I have been working in the Franklin Square area for a LONG time and have always passed by Plattduetsche but never stopped by. Big mistake! I went to a retirement party that was being celebrated here and I was amazed by how big this place is and how wonderful it was. The layout with the sofas and firepits was cozy, friendly and peaceful. The food was good and the atmosphere was inviting. I noticed a band was setting up on the stage and the entire vibe was perfect. Staff seemed happy to be there which added to the overall presentation. It was a wonderful experience that I should have had earlier. My loss...but not anymore. I will definitely be back! Five Stars
very loud, but what do they expect when they go to a bar restaurant? the burger I commanded to be “rare” came rather mediocre, and unfortunately the appetizer was a disappointment. the staff was very friendly, they do a good job when they eat out, but unfortunately, eating itself could have been better. overall beautiful environment if they want ... party drink, but not the best if they are just looking for a place to din (that has nothing to do with my assessment as it is based on eating itself)
Love this place! If you like to embrace your German heritage, this is the place! Especially if you have the opportunity to attend the Annual Bavarian Festival. Fun time all around.....good food, beer and entertainment. My family will keep returning....it is a special place. A special shout out to the bartenders in the beer hall... Danielle, Derrick and Richie! All of them were very professional and super personable....they did a great job. Especially handling so many customers at once!
eating is perfect, but served warm as often as it is cold (but it is never hot) and the prices are quite high. there is no hot water to wash in the bathroom, despite many aesthetic renovations over the years, and the kisses slip from the chairs while they sit on them. for non-Germans seeking the illusion of an authentic experience, this place is great.
This place is a hidden gem. Excellent customer service. Food is great! Book your next event there you won't regret it. Debbie the banquet manager is wonderful to work with. I am a event planner and she has been great. They pay attention to details. Love this place.
Food was ok. The pork shank was very dry. The side sauce helps. Service very slow. Wait almost 20 min to have the waiter to take the order. Parking is quite of unique. On a residential area 4 blocks from the entrance
I haven't been to Plattduetsche in years. I'm glad I had a craving for German food. I called in my takeout order, 20 minutes later, I picked up my order! This meal was Awesome! I definitely will be going back!
