Pleasant Cafe is an interesting experience with a great value. It's this perfectly preserved restaurant and bar straight out of the 70s, with a vast menu, unique specials, and a full bar. And it's very affordable! Don't go here with your nose up and quick to judge, it may look old but it has a really special atmosphere that many new hipster joints couldn't recreate if they tried. If you can appreciate it for what it is, you'll be a returning customer no doubt. Be patient with the service, sit back, and enjoy your cold $5 beer!
One of the best restaurants of all time, amazing food service. Pleasant Cafe feels like stepping back in time it is awesome, almost no other restaurants are as unique or nostalgic. The Italian food is delicious and surprisingly very good value. Anytime I'm in the area this is where I dine, I am always looking forward to going back here.
The food was amazing with huge portions at very reasonable prices. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. Five of us went, and all of us ordered entrees and drinks, and it came to 70 something dollars. That is as good a bargain as you will find anywhere. I can't recommend this place more highly. It's fantastic!
Used to go there when I lived in Roslindale/Hyde Park/W. Roxbury. My Rozzi friend worked there when she was much older. A great hang out as kids, food top notch. That was the late 60s early 70s. The best never goes away!!! That's how you know it rates 5 stars..

The best fried haddock and pizza in Massachusetts can be found at this restaurant, which has been a popular choice for over 50 years. However, I am disappointed that they have not had fried clams on the menu in a while.
The upside is they dealt with a party of 18 with no reservation on a Sunday afternoon. Easy parking. The price is right. The pizza was good nor great.
Love that thin crust pizza. I can never stay away from their Alfredo and turkey special, definitely recommend checking it out.
The pizza is incredible. It takes awhile so we recommend ordering as soon as you sit down/get there.
