The only Portillos in the whole Tampa Bay area. They need to open a Portillos around the Clearwater peninsula-maybe on Gulf to Bay Boulevard or by the mall off of Rt. 19. Only stopped here because it was on the way from Lakeland, Florida to Clearwater. I had the usual Italian combo sausage and beef, dipped and for extra charge I love to add melted mozzarella cheese and both sweet and hot peppers. Very oily from the hot peppers but that's why it's so good. No other place has ever been able to match the taste and secret spices that go into the sausage. Worth the drive every so often and the Cheeseburger with bacon is my other favorite I get from this chain. Quite possibly the best cheeseburger...
The vintage truck suspended above the dining area was quite a sight, and I found the assortment of antique collectibles fascinating—definitely not what I would expect in a fast-food place. Each table had posters encouraging job applications, and the staff behind the counter seemed to be having a great time together. Although I probably won’t return, that’s mainly because I lean more towards a vegetarian diet than consuming red meat. I actually ended up here by mistake, thinking it was a Mexican restaurant. I did enjoy the jazz music playing in the background!
I had a great first visit to this restaurant! The service was prompt and the staff was friendly, making sure to keep an eye on the entire food preparation process. Everyone seemed engaged and attentive. I really enjoyed the New Orleans-style music that added to the atmosphere. The place was clean and well-kept. I ordered the Polish sausage with mustard and sautéed onions, and it was delicious. I'll definitely be returning. Overall, I’d give it 4.3 stars.
Wow! Today was my first visit, and it did not disappoint. The staff was fantastic, and the food was out of this world. I tried the Jumbo Chicago, a big beef sandwich, and a chocolate cake shake. My sister-in-law suggested this place, and since I was working nearby, I couldn’t resist trying it out. When are you all planning to come to Central Florida? I will definitely be back!
As a Chicago transplant, I absolutely love being able to enjoy a taste of home whenever I want! Be sure to try the Italian beef, Maxwell Street Polish, or indulge in a genuine Chicago dog—you won't be disappointed. It's a shame they don't have Portillo's pasta dishes and ribs on the menu, but hopefully that will change soon!
The food was tasty special preferences were correct awesome. Selected dessert not available but an alternate was substituted. Char Grilled Maxwell Street Polish Sausage is awesome has such great flavor! the Greek Salad With Grilled Chicken was frest filling!
The sauce and the Italian beef was delicious! They gave me the beef and sausage one accidentally but it was still super good! Only reason why giving one less star, would def go again
The Italian beef and Chicago dogs are my favorite! Don’t go home without picking up some Portillo’s Famous Chocolate Cake or the Lemon Cake! Did I mention they serve draft beer?!?
The Italian beef sandwich, topped with both hot and sweet peppers, was absolutely delicious! The chocolate cake was fantastic as well.
