I had been wanting to try this restaurant because it is in my neighborhood and I had never tried Puerto Rican food before. After hearing great reviews about their signature Cubano sandwich, I decided to order it for dinner along with some fries. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was hoping for flavors similar to Mexican cuisine. I found the sandwich to be bland and lacking in taste. It seemed as though the meat wasn't seasoned at all. I enjoy spicy food, not necessarily just heat, but flavor from spices. I couldn't detect any spices in the sandwich. If you do not know what to pick from all their wonderful options, do yourself a favor and get their pernil. It is so good. The pernil mofongo with arroz con grandules (rice with pigeon peas) is . If you go to have dine in service, please be advised that the service is on the slower side. I would be careful with going here for lunch if you only have a 30 minute lunch. I will say, if you do dine in, once you get the food, you partially forget about how long you waited because the food is definitely worth it.
I will definitely be returning to try more of the amazing menu at this restaurant. I originally came for a Cubano sandwich but ended up trying a different sandwich along with some appetizers and rice dishes for my child. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ate and found the service to be excellent. They also have high chairs available and a kid-friendly menu, making it a great place for families. I can't wait to come back!
This restaurant is supposed to be Puerto Rican, right? The server was upset with us because we were speaking to her in Spanish. Very unprofessional. The prices were different from what was listed on the menu. The rice was burnt, the pork was dry, and the passion fruit juice had no flavor. There was more ice than juice in our drinks. The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the service was friendly. As a Puerto Rican, I know how hard it can be to please us because our abuelitas' cooking is always the standard. However, I found the food here to be authentic and full of flavor. I also really enjoyed the salsa. Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 5.
The dining experience at this restaurant is exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised to find a Puerto Rican restaurant in the city. Why settle for junk food when you can enjoy a healthy meal here. The staff is fantastic and there is live music along with a fully stocked bar.
Quite possibly the best fried chicken I've ever had (I think it was called Chicharon de Pollo). So good, and such friendly and welcome staff. We just moved to the area and I already feel at home here.
