Punjabi Tandoor is a local hidden gem located in a small food court on Main in Irvine. They offer combo plates with rice, veggies, and a choice of 1 or 2 main courses. Their chicken makhani, chicken tikka masala, chef's choice of the day which was potatoes and peas (this day I was in) are all amazing. They are not heavy in hot spices and quite enjoyable that way. I love their naan; they serve a huge piece that is so yummy dipped in curry sauces. Their cabbage is also amazing but they don't always have it. This restaurant offers excellent food. I typically order the chicken tikka masala and the chef's special of the day, which is usually outstanding. I often find Indian cuisine to be quite heavy due to its creaminess, but this place manages to strike a nice balance. I also enjoy their naan, which is crispy and fresh, and their rice pudding is delicious as well.
As a Brit I love my curry. It's the most popular food in the UK and I am always on the lookout for good Indian food.This is not good Indian good. It was the blandest Indian food I have ever tasted. Over-stewed chicken in watery sauces. The naan bread was more like a greasy pancake too.It gets 2 starts as the food was hot and there was plenty of it.

Enjoy Indian food and happy to find this spot. Great tasting food. Vegan friendly. Pleasant staff.The menu even has a vegan section. Would like to request the mushroom masala be added to the website order menu. As it is now, I have to go in and order at the counter and wait. It would be nice to just go in for pickup.
Friendly people who care about their product, which happens to be delicious. It's in a strip mall food court, so it's not a fine dining experience but it is by far my favorite spot to get a takeout lunch in Irvine. Recommend Naan, chicken makhani, mushroom marsala, veggie samosa, rice pudding.
I used to visit this place during the pandemic, and the food was delicious and satisfying. Today, I returned for the first time in a few years, and I probably won't be coming back. I like the staff, but the experience just didn’t meet my expectations. Food rating: 2/5.
This place went down big time! Use to be good, now just a quick cooked chicken with not much Indian flavor at all. Don’t waste your money!
