41 years ago this August 2017 Horst and Christa Teetzan headed to this quaint town with an idea. Today it has grown to a well established family café on one of the main streets in town. Horst would tell you that he is proud to be a local bowling champion and that his son Gerd carries on the family business with passion. We stopped in and delighted in some of the local gossip, picked up an incredible loaf of Farmers Rye Bread, and admired a lot of the in house made delicacies. I'm told that the apple fritters are the most popular. You can also preorder buns and cakes. Stop in for some yummy local treats with their friendly staff.
I really enjoy a great bakery, and this one definitely delivers! They offer a wide selection of delicious baked goods, and the breads are outstanding. They even have gluten-free options available in the freezer if that's what you need. Last year, we also ordered a Christmas cookie platter from here, and it was incredible!
Wow butter cream birthday cake for my niece was so good. Wish I got pictures. The creme filled donut specials were so good. The croissant sandwiched were so good especially paired with the homemade borscht. Coffee was fresh and excellent. Customer service was great, considering how busy it is for the staff shortage.

These are the best Nanaimo bars I've ever tasted! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is excellent. The rye bread was absolutely amazing!
Bakery with lots of freah choices and some day old for sale as well. Helpful staff, clean store and yummy lemon loaf!!
