We were wandering around late in the afternoon and stopped in for 'drinks only '. I got a glass of white wine, my husband red. We were checking out the other tables and noted an older Spanish couple to one side the man gave me a thumbs up sign, and pointed to his meal. His wife told me it was the ratatouille. It smelled incredible. My husband got the menu and ordered the ratatouille for me and Iberico ham with assorted sheep cheeses for himself. Both were delicious the ratatouille was hot and so flavorful!! Cenamos en la bodega-taberna Rafaé, pensando que por su ubicación, cerca de la Mezquita de Córdoba, sería un lugar caro y de mala calidad. Pero nos gusta arriesgar. Hicimos bien. Es un restaurante de tapas, con decoración taurina -quien no le guste debe entender que es algo normal en el sur de España, y que de Córdoba son algunos de los toreros más famosos-, con un servicio muy atento. La comida es muy rica, y la que se indica como casera, es que lo es. Probamos unas croquetas caseras que eran, en serio, caseras de verdad, como las de las madres de antes.
There is no good rating, so 3 stars. The steak house was filled up, so we tried Rafae, and there was a steady flow of people coming in. We only had three dishes, and they were the venison stew, very good; a kind of creamed spinach with a dash of vinegar sauce my wife pronounced this dead; and a small portion of the ox tail stew. This last melted in your mouth. I accompanied all these with a very dry white from Cordoba. My wife liked none of these dishes but I think she 's just mad about the eating late business. Bon appetit!
Muy bien en General, Servicio excelente y productos muy bien preparados, con un guiño mozárabe. Recomendar el Salmorejo, las albóndigas mozárabes, el arroz de rabo de toro y las Berenjenas. El servicio a muy buen ritmo, muy amables y pendientes de la mesa. Muy recomendable.

We’re regulars here when we visit Cordoba. Mostly to sit at the tapas area which is separate from the restaurant. The tapas here are very good, tasty, not expensive and generally it’s a friendly place to be.
