I have visited this restaurant a few times, initially thinking that I just didn't enjoy the dishes I had ordered. Firstly, I found the prices to be too high for the area. They are comparable to Sylvia's in Harlem, and considering it is a takeout restaurant, I expected more reasonable prices. Additionally, the food did not meet my expectations. I have tried multiple items on the menu, but only enjoyed the potato salad. Due to the high prices and mediocre food quality, I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The manager, Raheem, was very welcoming and took the time to chat with me about the restaurant. I ordered the breakfast special which included whiting, grits, and eggs, and it was delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly. The restaurant also has a new dining area. I will definitely be returning and would like to reassure others not to judge the restaurant by its location, as it is safe.
Purchased chicken wing dinner along with greens and sweet potatoes.Wings had not been cleaned also not cooked all the way. Greens were ok however will not be returning. Wings were not crisp at all, so much hair on them that you had to eat around it. Staff was friendly however.
The food at this restaurant is excellent and the service is very friendly. The chicken wings were especially delicious. The only thing I would suggest is adding a little nutmeg to the yams. I was so excited about the food that I forgot to take a picture.

Just leftsoul food delight in east orange. I only bought wings but every time I come down here I try new things. Only to compare to where I work. #soulfoodchesshouse. The wings suck and they robbed me for my tips,, wing tips. Never again. $5.35 for what?
So, my company ordered food for Christmas and for what they paid, they were hoodwinked, bamboozled and led astray.....plus the food was flavorless and lacked seasoning. I’m so disappointed
I went to have lunch there it's not to far from where I live it was great food&customer service.I wind up going back to get a dinner..I give it thumbs up???
